I see it more then usual people carrying new items from their islands dying constantly at spawn. This give players illegal items that they did not mean to get (i understand you can get rid of them, but more people will just drop them in a chest). I know that you can use world edit to make it so that players can not take fall damage in a certain area. I'm suggesting that we make spawn a place where fall damage can not hurt you. You would still die if you landed in the void, but if you typed /spawn you would not die. I understand part of skyblock is losing your items, but some players will not do /spawn and still lose items. I think the benefits out weigh the cons it would severely cut down on illegal items like lava buckets, sand, water buckets, etc... Just a suggestion i know it is possible just don't know if skyblock wants to do it
Edit: If this gets added might want to make a sign at spawn telling players it is only spawn they do not have to worry about fall damage.

 

Great idea, It would also be cool for non-donors to be able to 360 off the top of the lava falls without taking damage lol.

At a brief glance, this looks like a player has to set his chest, but the idea of this is to prevent new players from dying with dirt and other starter items at spawn.

hmmm seems like a good plugin i just don't know how well it can work in the economy. With no one dying at spawn from fall damage it will decrease the value of items a bit, but not noticeably i don't think. With a death chest all items would be kept and items would start losing value as more and more was made. It is a good idea just not sure how well it would work on a economy based off of items. Thanks for the suggestion though it could still be work

 

I think some players would loop-hole it. They fall off their island, then do /spawn and they won't lose their items.

Then again, a lot of players create a water pool at their spawn point on their island so they won't lose their items. So I guess it isn't that big of a deal.

yeah i thought about that and you are right lots of players have safe warps or just put water at /home. I was just thinking that with new players typing /spawn with new island items it not only gives players illegal items it also discourages the player to keep playing. Also lava and drowning would still be damaging at spawn plus it would only be at spawn were fall damage did not matter.

 

I put my infinite water source over the bedrock, so if I fall into the void I can just do /home, and I won't die But yeah this is a good idea.
