Mega trees are not a common thing talked about on Skyblock. What are mega trees? Mega trees are trees that generate with a 2x2 section of logs, rather than 1x1 (Added in version 1.2.1). A tree that produces normally like 8 logs can produce over 80 logs, and a serious load of saplings. Mega trees can be done with Jungle (as of Official 1.2.1) and spruce (as of Snapshot 13w36a). Dark oaks are ONLY mega trees (as of Snapshot 13w36a)

Spawning Them:
It is a little expensive, requiring 4 saplings rather than merely 1. You have to place the four saplings in a square with NO objects directly next to them. (See below)


To grow them... you can bone meal them... or just wait. They do not take that long.

The Possibilities:
The generation code makes it so there is near no limit to the mega trees. There are WAY bigger, but are harder to knock down. Here are some pictures, with 5 mega trees, and one original:

Jungle Trees... they spawn weird, and they do spawn with vines on them, which can be used as ladders. They drop the least saplings.


Spruce trees are a little better, but they do produce unsymmetrical trees. They can drop half a stack of saplings if a looting axe is used.


Dark Oak trees to not produce a lot, and they ONLY have a mega tree form.

The other trees do not have a mega form.

Pros:
-High output
-Less trees
-More Saplings made
-Less Floor-space
-Produce vines (Jungle only)

Cons:
-Expensive
-Huge
-Pesky to knock down (with no /jump or /fly)
-May not produce 4 sapplings
-Ware out your axe
-Need no blocks next to it, not even snow or tall grass
