Clag is very annoying, when i was building on my island, i wanted to make a redstone lamp/minecart powered lightsource in a section of my build. Then Clag came along and deleted the mine cart... is there a way to disable the deletion of minecarts? Also Clag is terrible when farming trees, since you have to constantly look for the sapplings if you are farming a mass amount of trees.

Clag is pretty necessary, I'm pretty sure that stuff would never despawn without it, creating lag and all kinds of other issues.

I've read in the thread that there used to be a problem with clag taking stuff out of item frames and that seems to be solved now... so maybe there is a way for them to stop it from removing minecarts? I'm not sure, I don't know much about the developing/programming side of it.

Well clag does take minecarts, and they are deleted for a reason. People could have many minecarts running and this would cause major lag, smae with item frames, pictures and other items. It is necessary for clag to remove items to prevent lag. I had a minecart stolen from me by clag. Also if you have a minecart running, before you leave pick it up and before clag pick it up, same with other items. When it says one minute be fore clag, do not drop anything. Just a little tip.

Thats not the point, if i want to make a huge light system for my island, i cant do that easily due to minecarts getting deleted. In a rail system for transportation, you can easily pick up your cart once you get to your desired destination, but if i wanted to make something with detector rails, the system would only work for afew minutes, unless i constantly go back to my island and pick up all the carts, place them again, and continue this process. This limits so many things. I doubt people could have huge amounts of minecarts, since they are crafted with iron, which isnt abundant to most players

There is a very big reason for CLag. There are 100's of people playing and they need to remove the entities. On my server we have CLag and if it doesn't get cleared, it will get laggy. They need to remove the mobs and items off of the ground to stop the lag. Believe me, they are trying to look out for you and making sure you have a fun time. Thus, there is a reason. Thanks Bdark.

Plus, it isn't just minecarts, it's mobs and items.

There is a way to remove it from the list but they do cause lag thus they need to be removed. Also, the server gives you clear warning when it is going to remove them so you shouldn't mine trees during then.

Guide to not losing items during Clear Lag [Net] | Skyblock Forums

Lets be honest, you might just have to learn to live with clag until the plugin devs fix them.
Basically in terms of what cypriotmerks has said, we better put up and shut up because clag is in the best interest to the server. And putting up is what I have done.
Just dont leave minecarts running i guess and pick them um when u done.

Just as an illustration to show how useful CLAG can be, these screenshots were taken a few minutes ago on the nearly full (493/500) SB.NET server:

Before CLAG (look at the uptime):

After CLAG (less than 40 seconds later):

Note the increase of nearly 50% of free memory, from 6.8GB to 9.8GB, representing, roughly 12.5% of server's total memory.

Can I add this to my clear lag help guide? It would be good to show people proof, I will credit you.

I'm not saying to get rid of clag, it should happen less often, assuming it happens every 5 minutes. Why can't it be at least 15 minutes? That way any trees would have mostly deteriorated, and that solves that problem. I doubt an intense amount of lag would occur during those extra few minutes. Not many of the players on the server have a lot of iron to make minecarts, let alone rail systems. Again, if minecarts were to be removed from the entity deletion list in clag (or however it works, i never used clag on my servers) i doubt any noticeable change in lag would happen.

Clag is not going to go. It prevents the server from having lots of entities which causes lag.
