Since my computer isn't high quality, my drawings are all done by pencil.
Drawing with computers are nice, but I think drawing with pencil on paper is more challenging but comes out better.
But if you want to be an animator, computer drawings may come in handy as well.

Also, I use deviantart muro. Ik it's some what of a nooby art programme but I don't have a graphics tablet or any better ones o.o. But I actually think its quite good

 

I mostly draw with my hand. P
What I can give you as a tip is make a circle (like with a pencil) then make the face shape inside the circle (Not as in making the circle the head) like you want it.
