I have said that in the thread but:
Thease are a forums, and forums are there to awnser questions, help people, show new stuff etc.
But these are a very active forums, so I thought of posting this error here.

 

When you are next at school [Tomorrow I guess] ask him to write it down again, or maybe try searching for the server on a mincraft server website. He may have accidentally wrote down the wrong ip.

 

1) Make sure you're not banned from the server, especially IP banned
2) Try opening a command prompt and doing ping <ip>
3) Try opening a command prompt and doing tracert <ip>

PM me the results of #2/#3

is your mac due for an update??? CUZ I had that same thing happen to me and the Hellblock server but it turns out that I just had to update my PC.

 

I am not banned from it.... Why would I? I just found out the ip.

There is an update... Trying it now
My mac is version 10.7.5 btw.

Since you first tried have you tried changing your IP?

Those are basic troubleshooting steps that can be useful in diagnosing a problem.

Also between the times that you were able to connect and not able to, have you restarted your modem in any way? If so, it's possible that your modem might have acquired an IP that is IP banned, which would explain why you can connect with Minechat
