Before I even start this isn't at a certain moderator, if you think I'm targeting you, you can private message me and we'll work it out there, at current most staff are doing their job correct, well better than others. As a moderator your main priority is to watch the chat, get rid of vulgar language/material as soon as you can and keep it away, as of late all I'm seeing is swearing, talk of things that people under 18 shouldn't hear. Repeated offenders aren't being punished, they're getting a slap on the wrist and being talked to. As soon as that mod leaves they're back at it. I understand .nets chat moves fast, I know this as I started out on .net and it was a challenge to keep up. But what you need to do list known swearers and each time they swear the mute adds. Sometimes we forget that younger people play or things just slip out, but they don't slip more than once. The more something is enforced the less people will do it. Now onto /afk. Don't use it, just sign out. I know an inconvenience but we don't have access to /list and most of you type it everytime you alt tab and it spams the chat quickly. Getting there, I sound like a broken record. Don't threaten players. I cannot stress this one enough, "Do you want me to ban you" isn't getting your point across, it's not doing good and the person has successfully made you angry, you just lost anything you had on him and if you do ban, it will be out of emotions instead of proper moderating. I'm about out of things to say. You may or may not agree with this but it's things mods should follow, I assume my mod handbook was lost in the forum wipe.
^^ this guy, knows what the heck he`s doing. Why isn't he a staff member... I mean, he knows well more about this job the certain staff members that haven't even been in this server in months...
You don't need to know the specifics. Don't worry about it. As for the rest of this, we do keep a log of kids that have been muted, and I like the idea of keeping a list of known cursers or those using offensive language.
"Before I even start this isn't at a certain moderator, if you think I'm targeting you, you can private message me and we'll work it out there, at current most staff are doing their job correct, well better than others." I was trying to not target anyone, I'm above calling people out. But it's all at your Ninja, all your fault. If you just served the ball-- wait. But know, I know most if not all of you know whats going on. "A mod saying, do you want me to ban you, is them saying this is your final chance. If they continue there stuff, they will be banned." They will continue because they're getting under your skin, take this from someone who trolls often. You threaten me with a ban and I've already won. However some do deserve the threat, just try not to (at everyone) as I see it often. hey dirty bby send me the mod handbook so I can finish it. xoxo An admin and I didn't really get along so I stepped down from forum admin, and resigned/was demoted from in-game. But thank you for the kind words.
You hurt my feelings, all I did was try to express my love. The issue with that, is if they were smart they wouldn't be doing it in the first place.
This wasn't exactly at you, if I'm not getting you confused I've been stressing this point for years. I've seen mods threaten to leak information, delete islands all that jazz.
Agreed. Part of the reason is because all they need to do is say "I'm really sorry I realise my mistake now, I won't do it again, Please unban me I promise I won't steal lollipops from now on" and they get unbanned. Don't quote Mods out of context. There is a difference between a player receiving this message for no reason, and a known player who has been for a while being disrespectful. Player: ***** you you're a crappy mod Mod: Say that 1 more time and I'll ban you is merely the Mod informing the player (essentially being nice by giving them 1 more chance) that if they said something more along similar lines that they would be facing a ban. Yes the mods are understaff and under alot of pressure, but generally the quality of modding on the server is excellent, especially compared to other servers. Keep it up!
The "Stop I'll ban you" thing some of my fellow staff do agitates me, can't y'all be a bit more mature? Anyways, /afk is handy, it's there to be used since it's a bit easier to use it than to log back on in my opinion since my internet is a bit goofy and I'll fall into an endless pit for a few minutes or so before I actually spawn in the server. But yeah, I've seen people ignore swearing people whilst I've been dealing with something that requires my full attention and I have to stop doing that to deal with the repeat offenders over and over again when there's other members of staff online. We all just need to talk about it, we will do better in the future.
Being formal isn't a bad thing. Formal is one step above professional. However that part wasn't about ninja, I'm not sure how people gathered it was. It's nice people are joining in, but please don't use names, I don't want them to view this to defend themselves.
