i would like the server to change it from 49x49 to like 80 or 100, 49 is such a small place to move around with, this might only be my opinion but yea! on .net

 

its 49 from the bedrock so its technically a 100x100 area you have.

 

i think it is a good size for building + if the islands could get bigger, it would probably cause more lag.

 

Bigger islands wouldnt cause lag, but to make this happen there would need to be a server reset since the islands are already set up and created to allow only 50x50

What about the other 1 million islands out there? They'd have to restart for it to get the full amount added.

This would be good. The existing islands could stay, but the new ones could have a bigger build limit.

 

I can't imagine this happening, it would be unfair for all of the players who have already created an island.

 

If this were true, when you restart your island it could overlap someone else's and delete some of their stuff. Making the region bigger would make a lot of people have problems.

 

This suggestion just affects too much of what is already made... It most likely won't be accepted, if you want more space to build, make a staircase upwards or downwards using flowing water.

Yea, up/down is the way to go. With that said, 100x100 is a HUGE area to work with, if you've tried filling up the entire area, it takes 2.5 DC of blocks to fill. Furthermore, if each level is 10-20 blocks high thats still an additional 10-20 levels of 100x100 to build on.

 

Now, Look at it this way, If you wanted the area of 49x49 to expand to 79x79 (since there is no true center if it's 80x80) The server will have to reset, Which Is a HUGE problem. Reason? here, think of it like this. You worked so hard on an Island, building a small scale model of the Statue of Liberty, or maybe, a recreation of the Moon's surface, then, supposedly, your idea goes though, and space is increased, However, due to islands being 49x49, the server will have to reset to move everything further away from each other, and when a server resets, Every block, that has been moved, placed, etc, will be eradicated, including your work. Now, My question is, would you sit back, and just rage about the loss of your hard work? or would you just decide to recreate it, even though the materials to recreate will be possibly harder to obtain due to the server resetting. So all in all, I disagree with this, it should be, and always stay, as a 49x49 area
