We should be allow to vote for mods and the sort. I believe being able to vote for mods will be very helpful. Noobcrew could suggest people to be mods and the fellow skyblockers get to vote. To vote u should be able to do /mod vote username. That way people are chosen by the people they will be helping I believe it will make a big difference in the way we run skyblock.

No. This would turn into a popularity contest and bribery. It's crew's server; He picks players based on their applications and they get promoted to full mod based on trustworthiness and ability. If we did it through a vote, a lot of todays best mods wouldn't have even been given a chance simply because they weren't well known.
Also, since it would turn to a popularity contest, green beans would have almost no chance at all.

Edit: Cyp is the one who promotes nowadays -Akrill :))

noobcrew would pick some applications and the sky blockers would decide who they want and i had another idea that someone would be paired up with a soon to mod and do the propaganda and the vote for bla bla bla

Or in a different way have the moderators as like a judges/nominators and Noobcrew/Cyp has the final word.

I'm still going to say no. It's still going to turn into a popularity contest and bribery.
Also the term is a long standing term. Just because their name is green doesn't mean they haven't donated. They just might not have bought a donor package. There was once a green donor, MAZAS. He had no prefix and his name was the usual green, but he had all the donor perks. So calling them non-donors is technically incorrect though I can see how it'd be slightly offensive.

That still wouldn't go well. A lot of mods were unknown to anyone on the team until their promotion back before the tmod rank. Judgement-wise, some of us make fairly bad judgement calls. Nomination-wise, it's still just a popularity contest.

I can see how this could change into a popularity contest, but couldn't Crew be able to veto the promotion, or have a test trial to see if they're fit for the position? Also, if you're bribing a couple of people, that wouldn't change your vote by that much, because if you have to bribe a ton of people lots of diamonds or something, it would drain your resources.

The fact of the matter is the choice should only really be Crew's choice. It is his server after all and he needs to pick people he feels he can trust.
As for bribing, I've known people with entire double chests of diamond blocks (legit obtained). It would get very bad if people like that started bribing to get mod, as they were not the nicest people...

Meh. I can see both sides' argument's logic, but I'm fine with the current mod app system, just putting in an idea here.

I mean, what do they lead? Sure, they hold drop parties occasionally, and play on skyblock, but they really just decide who gets banned and who doesn't, like Santa or the old guy at the Surpreme Court! :p I think you think them as role models, not leaders.

The problem with voting for mods is the lack of balance in such a method.

While they may be popular and a lot of people may want them for mod, some just can't handle the position like they say.

I won't mention names but this has happened in the past where someone was promoted, with convincing arguments that they could handle it and plenty of support from the server players as a whole. Next thing you knew, they were gone. This isn't a democracy and never will be.

Democracy is a broken system here, dominated by the popular, and under classed.
