I am not sure how to go about this. It was on skyblock.net
Yesterday my daughter asked me to follow her to another server to play a game there. When she came back she was banned from skyblock. This happened yesterday but she is still unable to get on, and saying that she can not connect to the server.
I read that you cannot advertise other servers, fair enough. But how long does the ban go for? And I would like to appeal but she does not remember any details (she is 11).
If anyone can point an old codger in the right direction or make a suggestion I would be very grateful

Yes, but that is what I am trying to say. I don't know the exact message or if it is a server ban or someone did it. She said the game hangs at logging in so she can't check. We do not live together so I have no access to her computer. We just play to stay in touch. Can I submit the report without the required information?

Before submitting the report I want to get the details I need before wasting peoples time. I am unsure, hence being in the help section.
So not appealing the ban yet

 

We will need her in game name as a minimum.

Hello there, Jason, I can understand the dilemma this may be. It was a ban indeed for advertising. If you could please fill out the form, it is just standard procedure. NIH301 would find this much easier to be able to process the appeal for you on your daughter's behalf.

I have also moved the thread to the proper section and set the title to be more easily noticed so it will again be a smoother process.

OK, so I am the moderator that banned the player. Advertising a different server is usually a permanent ban.

I am willing to accept however that this may have been a mistake, but need to make sure. Can you please confirm for me what was actually said between you two that prompted her to say the server name in public chat?

I cannot recall exactly, but it was along the lines of "Hey dad, do you want to play games on another server?" I said "yes" She then told me the address.
Yes she had read the rules. The only defense I can make is that for an eleven year old girl seeing her dad online and playing a game she loves was just too exciting.
My ex wife and I split almost four years ago. While I call the children every day, due to working 12 hour shifts on rotation, I do not see them as often as I would like. For her, my son and I, being able to connect through an online medium is a godsend. Especially with a game they both like. I guess what I am saying is that for her, she wanted to show dad everything as quickly as possible (I have been on skyblock for one or two weeks now, playing on their island but have only seen them twice online and only for a few minutes)
I know she is very sorry and feeling very guilty. Her mother and brother both use the same account s0 she will have that guilt as well (her mother will not allow separate accounts for the children)
The decision is up to you. Ultimately she did break a rule. There is no way to deny that. I can give no reason to un-ban her other than those of compassion. I hope you do but understand if you do not., rules are there for a reason. I have explained that to her and she has re-read them. She has promised not to do it again.

OK, what you've said fits in with the part of the conversation I saw, so happy to accept it was a mistake. I shall unban your daughter on the understanding that you clarify with your kids the rules of the server.
