Really, why? People have flint, which is from gravel, which can only be gotten from the nether on .org (to my knowledge). Le sigh... I'd rather be able to get my own "fire" from the nether than pay someone to light things when they basically got it illegally anyways. So while a few people run around with very expensive contraband items that others pay out the nose for, we are expected to...not try to get our own? :/ please s'splain.... Im not trying to be rude here. Its just that its a really odd restriction considering the items/content in the nether. They arent really used for our economy like iron is, so what would be so bad about opening it? If lag is an issue, we could just make one portal at spawn for public use. So enlighten me please. :3
gravel is illeagul to have and nether portals are unnecessary as well thats why there is a hellblock.net
If this is on org then people got flint in the old donor shop ,and if this is for net people who have been playing for a long time remember that at one point nether portals weren't illegal and they did bring you to the nether.
It would somewhat ruin some buying in the server. Gold would no longer be as rare. And Gold Blocks would thrive. Nether Portals on a 500 slot server... No. That'd be a lot more lag.
Since zombie pigmen are disabled, having nether portals is a way of acquiring said illegal mod, thus giving you a way to farm gold, which in turn ruins the economy and reduces the price of gold significantly, hurting the server as a whole.
