All these T-mods are getting perma-ban happy over at .org about afking at auto farms. I heard it is illegal to afk at an auto-farm that is NOT yours. There is TOO MUCH AMBIGUITY for mods to be perma-ban happy over this rule. We need to clear this up, officially. What is the OFFICIAL RULE on afking at auto-farms? Do not post an answer unless you ARE a MOD. I dont want to hear more rumors or "Well, I heard that ____" kinds of answers. I want an official answer from an official mod. I want a reference to an official rule posting about this so we know for sure. Furthermore, this needs to be in the rulebook if its going to be a rule. There's just too much crap around this. Thank you. -CCM
It IS illegal to Trespass Other Players Auto Farms Unless you have Permission or are in a Coop with permission, You Can be banned. As stated By SLGMichael , that if you need to go AFK for Longer than 15 Min then Log Off.
Going afk at someone elses farm or even standing at you own farm is illegal because it causes major lag for the server
It is a offense that can be punished with a ban, but I always give a warning first. If a tmod/mod says something is illegal chances are it is. We were hired for a reason and that is to enforce the rules. Also tmods have only banned a few people because of this and that was after about 3 warnings. I'm sorry if you don't like the new members added to the staff team. If you have any other questions PM me and I will get a answer for you. Have a good day. edit: it doesn't matter if you trespass or use use your auto farm. They are both ban able offenses. It ruins the economy that is why people make 150k a night from afking.
Going AFK at someone else's auto-farm is the exact same as going into their chests and stealing the items. If you are on an island and the owner asks you to leave, you are expected to leave. If you do not comply, you can be kicked or tempbanned. Also, while not bannable, we ask that you do not go AFK at a farm or afk pool for more than 10 or 15 minutes at a time. As stated earlier, it does cause lag for the server.
I agree and I'm really sorry about not updating the rules for a while. I've been incredibly busy with school. SLGMichael answered your question and I shall update the rules soon.
After revisiting the rules, I noticed that the rule on AFKing was already mentioned. We explicitly stated that AFKing near auto farms is strictly prohibited therefore the Tmods that were going "ban crazy" were actually correct in doing so since it was mentioned that this is not allowed. I changed the rule though to accommodate what SLGMichael said. Now you will not be banned for AFKing near your autofarm but you will still be banned for AFKing near other people's autofarms.
I dont blame you for being busy with school. I am a senior in college and yeah, I'm getting my butt whooped a bit. Thank you very much for updating those rules. I will pass the link along in a private message to any mods or t-mods who are unsure about what to do. I really appreciate your flexibility with this- and I KNOW that the economy on .org will stabilize eventually. No stress Also, I didnt mean to sound rude, guys. Im sorry if I came off that way. I've just had mixed responses and would have liked to interact with a mod who wanted to work it out together with us, rather than just shut it down without providing some link or clarity. There really was no offer of 3 warnings, though he did say "next time, you're perma-banned" to the user he was interacting with. That's all. I definitely respect our Mods and do my best to keep the server a happy place as well. Can I please have a link to the full and complete list for this server? The book didnt have all that much last time I checked. Thank you for your quick response guys, and sorry for all the caps in my original post. >.< Happy building! -CCM
Hm, ok. I thought the AFK rule was to prevent the farm from being on. I agree that collecting all the crop for yourself is stealing. I am glad we are protected from that. However, I use hoppers and the thought of someone stealing the pumpkins never crossed my mind. I thought it was a rule created to limit the amount of money we can make, so thank you for the clarification. That makes it all seems less player-vs.-central state. >.<
