I can't seem to find a simple, straightforward "how to" for successfully setting up Skyblock to play at home for two computers on the same internet connection.

Does anyone here have a link to this sort of step-by-step guide? Everything here seems to concern playing on a big server. In searching online I've only found: how to play alone (managed to make that work) and how to get onto a server that someone else has already set up (don't need that).

    Sorry for being a noob.
    I appreciate any help
    Thank you!

To play the map or the server?
For the map download it to one of your computers then load it. Then press esc -> open to lan
For the server one of you do /newisland, then type /coop invite (friends ign)

First you download the map and put it into your saves folder in your .minecraft. If you are on windows 7 search your computer cmd
Once you have done that type ipconfig into the cmd then enter. Find your Ip4v/ Ipv4 address. Write that down. Now close command prompt and open minecraft. Open the map then open it to lan. In chat it should say 0.0.0.0: Then some random numbers after the semi-colon. Add that to your ip for example 123.456.1.234:23421. Have the other computer go to direct connect then enter the number.
