Please note that this appeal is being filed by Seamonsterking's Mother. Seamonsterking is not permitted (by his parents) to be a forum member due to his age.
    1. Server name (.net / .org ): skyblock.net
    2. In-game name: Seamonsterking
    3. Full exact Ban Message: Banned by the_dirty_ninja: Griefing, appeal at skyblock.net-dirty
    4. Did you read the rules ? yes, but only after being banned
    5. Why do YOU think you were banned? Seamonsterking thinks he was banned because there was a bridge ( that Seamonsterking did not make) to a piece of bedrock. Seamonsterking went over the bridge, and jumped off of the island, taking nothing with him. Seamonsterking's friends expanded the bedrock in a previous session some time ago, and told Seamonsterking that he was allowed to go to the island.
    6. Was this an incorrect ban? We think so.
    7. Were you ever banned before on SkyBlock? If so, what for? Seamonsterking has never been banned before.
    8. Why do you think you should be unbanned? Because the ban says it is for griefing, and Seamonsterking did not grief. His friends also gave him permission to visit the island, so he thought it was okay. I understand that you had no way to know that his friends said it was allowed. They communicate to each other in person. I have asked all of them to reread the rules.
Seamonsterking is very sorry that he went over the bridge, and will not do it again. We also have been unable to find out how long Seamonsterking is banned. Could someone please give us this information?

First of all, I am going to tag the banning moderator, the_dirty_ninja so he can see this as soon as possible.

Secondly, the ban is permanent unless the banning moderator decides to unban him.

A permanent ban is quite harsh, especially considering that Seamonsterking is a child who was not aware that he did something wrong, if indeed he actually did do something wrong. We have reviewed all of the rules together, and Seamonsterking will be very careful not to break any rules if he is allowed back on the server. I appreciate everyone taking the time to review this ban appeal.

Thank you, I really appreciate it.
Seamonsterking is very sorry, and I am starting to think that his friends may have tricked him. I need to discuss this matter with their parents if that is what happened here.

Seamonsterking did not know that there were rules that he needed to read until he was banned. After talking with the other parents, it appears that none of the children knew that there were rules to be read.
After the ban, Seamonsterking and I reviewed the rules together. Our biggest issue is that we did not know that griefing was anything other than stealing. When Seamonsterking told me he did not grief, he was saying that he did not steal! I did not intentionally lie on the appeal, and I am appalled that it looks that way. I have never been a gamer, and am unfamiliar with Minecraft. After I saw the screen shots that you sent, I googled "griefing in Minecraft". Apparently, griefing is thirteen different things, most of which I do not even understand. Seamonsterking definitely does not understand what griefing is, or that what he did is not permitted. I will talk to him about this after school today.

Seamonsterking told me he got to the island by jumping (he said he used forward slash jump). He said his friends have bridged. He told me that his friends told him it was okay to do the "destroying" that is in the screen shots. He thought that it was wrong, but they kept telling him it was okay to do it, so he did it. He did not understand that it was stealing, but he understands now. His father and I had a lengthy discussion with him about it. He is very upset and sorry for his actions. Seamonsterking is a trusting child who was under peer pressure. He now understands not to do what his friends tell him to do. This was a hard lesson for him.

I was told that the ban is permanent. In the real world, at least the English speaking world, children are not jailed for theft for life. They are given a second chance. I can tell you that he is a good child, and has learned his lesson.
He will not be a repeat offender. Could the ban be for a period of time, but not his entire lifetime?
