My IGN: monkeyfunk26How old am I? I am nineteen years old. What timezone do I live in? I live in California, so PST. What country do I live in? I live in the United States of America. What languages do I speak? I am fluent in English (specifically American English), but have familiarity in Spanish, French, and Italian. Have I ever been banned? To date, I have never been banned. Why do I think I should be a mod? To be completely honest, I've asked myself this a number of times, never quite sorting out how I feel on the matter. The debate usually goes along the lines of, do I want to play, or do I want to help make the server an even friendlier environment? I've thought it to be one way or the other, but have realized that in the current moment (as a regular player), I in fact already do both. Whenever I'm building or just putzing around, I find myself answering any questions that stand out as legitimate wonderings (aside from trolls and the like), helping to restore people's griefed islands with my own resources, as well as just providing players with confidence in the higher-level players. Numerous times I've had new players beg for me to help them with a grief, or moving spawners, only to have to sadly tell them of my inability to do so (I do what I can to help them report it, though). Truly, I suppose it's in my nature to try and help the less fortunate, because, though unrelated, I find myself giving away items, or aiding in enchantments, or repairing things entirely out of good will. It is of my opinion that if I can do something to make someone's day a little better, I might try to do so.So, in the end, I guess I have really settled on an answer to my internal debate, I do want to be a mod, and should be one. Too many times I see people wanting to become moderator, without fully realizing that its a job, not a title. I believe that I can in fact perform the former – but not without the latter. What qualifications do I have? Well, as one might surmise from what I answered to the previous question, I am an extraordinarily fair and kindly person, always wanting to help and improve things to the best of my ability. Though I have occasionally been a touch aggressive whilst online, I mostly keep a cool head. I am dedicated to the interests I hold, and Skyblock is among those. In real life, I've actively participated in community gardens, worked at soup kitchens, and was a group leader for various endeavors related to school projects, the latest being a psychological case-study report. Point being, I'm capable of hard work, and seeing it through, as well as being a role-model for others. I also am a very quick learner (taught myself Python in 3 hours, just for fun), and can adapt equally fast. I know most, if not all, of the appropriate punishments for infractions of rules. In one sentence: I possess the required maturity, rationale, and intellect to be able to effectively moderate both fairly and equally. How long can I be active on the server everyday? Typically I am on for a decent amount of time (around a total of 5-8 hours) throughout the day, nearly every day. Occasionally I have other obligations outside of Minecraft, however, and am out for a few days. How long have I been playing skyblock.net? At this point, I think I have been playing for 6 or 7 weeks. Technically speaking, I first came onto the server around a year ago (when I first bought MC), but took a hiatus until around a month and a half ago. Do I have any past experience as a moderator? No, I do not have any experience as moderator, but I have to start somewhere, no? Additionally, and not to sound too conceited, but I do believe I am a cut above most other candidates; I really am on all the time, and am very active in chat; not to mention I have 5 to 10 years more of life experience under my belt than most players — and I use that to the benefit of all.
Monkeyfunk is very nice, generous, and a great friend to have on minecraft. He always wants to help and just be an all around a great person. I think he would make a fantastic Mod. :cat
I very rarely support mod applications, though I read a lot of them, but for this one, I have to say that your application is well-written and you seem very sincere. Support
Wow, that means a lot, especially if you aren't one to support willy-nilly. Thank you, good to know I'm making a positive impression.
