  My name is MiamiSammy, but most people in the Skyblock community know me as Sam or Sammy. I am 22 years old, born February 04, 2003, and I've lived in Canada my entire life. I joined this community in 2012, when I was 9 years old and when I first started playing Minecraft. I took a long break from the game through middle/high school, and into my early adult life. Now that I have graduated high school, and have a stable career, I have found time to play this game once again.

• Can you speak any additional languages?
  I speak English fluently as a first language. I learned French for 7 years in school, but consider myself at a limit working proficiency in the language.
  
  
• Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence?
  Yes, I do. I record primarily through OBS, however I also use the Xbox Game-Bar for recording short clips in games when needed.
  
• How long can you be active on our platforms everyday?
  I am typically active in-game for 3-4 hours per day. I have Discord on both my phone and computer, and monitor it regularly. I typically work 40-50 hours per week, on a rotating schedule, so my active in-game hours are constantly different.
  
  
• When did you first join Skyblock?
  I joined Skyblock in late 2012, officially joining the forums in August of 2013. I played in this community under a different account name as evident by my old forums posts, when I was younger. I stopped playing Minecraft for quite a few years after 2014, returning in 2021. Since 2021, I've been playing actively and regularly on Skyblock. The same year, I managed to recover this old forums account that I created when I first joined.
  
  
• Have you ever been banned on any platform?
  Yes, I was banned for griefing in January of 2014. In February of 2014, I was unbanned after my appeal. I have not received any disciplinary action since.
  
  
• Do you have any past moderation experience?
  Yes, I have experience moderating Minecraft servers many years ago. I am familiar with in-game moderation, and moderation on platforms such as Discord. I also have experience in moderating other video game communities. I will provide further information related to these experiences upon request, however I will not list any communities on this post as to not break any rules related to advertising. I do not have any past experience moderating on the Skyblock server.
  
  
• Why do you think you should become a staff member?
  Since my return to Skyblock, I've made an effort to be as helpful and as welcoming as possible. This community provided me an unbelievable amount of support, and enjoyment when I was younger. I've returned with the express intent of being able to repay the Skyblock community, what it has given me. In my last 4 years within the server, I have been fortunate enough to have met countless players who have been nothing except friendly, welcoming, and supportive. Many of these players have been staff members, who aside from being kind, have helped me with any issues that have arose throughout my time here. I want to be able to follow in the footsteps of these amazing individuals, and help the community as much as it has helped me. Throughout my experiences in life, whether they be school, work, or moderating video game communities, I've striven to learn, and to grow as a person. I hope that joining the staff team here can be another one of these opportunities.
  
  
• Do you meet the requirements for staff?
  Yes, I meet all requirements listed for joining the staff team.

 

Comes back after 4 years and posts 14 forum posts (yes, you technically qualify by post count but still very low).
You have also not posted in the discord in over 14 months.
I cannot speak for in-game as I am hardly active but I have never seen you (again, hardly active so not surprised).
As a staff applicant, you're expected to be active on all 3.

We’ve interacted a few times, but I definitely think it’s a timezone/active-time issue. My work schedule pretty much dictates my active times in-game! Thank you for the praise, though!
