I think that regardless of the weight of the currency used - the act of gambling is addictive and can undeniably serve as a gateway to more of it. crazy right? I know.
we shouldn't get hung up on whether im gambling grass blocks, money, or loot crate keys, blah blah blah. because if we do get hung up on that we miss the big picture - the real problem.

 

Yes because everyone knows you go from playing a wheel spin using free grass blocks to gambling at casinos. It’s the same as how drinking potions in Minecraft makes people do hard core drugs and drink alcohol

I’m not reading it because I’m not gonna spend more time responding to you because you don’t want to listen to anyone else, it’s a stupid suggestion to take away being able to buy ranks and upgrades and it’s a stupid suggestion to try and ban one of the main ways players interact and make an income.

I’ve never seen you ingame and you’ve only been on forums for a few days, maybe with some more experience you will understand how little of a deal this is..

You have your mind set on something that is just not realistic, you can’t take away the main form of income to the server and you can’t remove a massive part of the player ran economy. Signs can be put up and people can be warned but that’s it.

That would be way too difficult to do and I don’t see the harm in maturer teens playing along as long as it’s just an online currency. But I do take concern in children as young as single-digits viewing and playing casinos. I understand it’s a pixelated video game but it can influence children the wrong way if they’re that young. Maybe they could be banned from auto-adverts in the chat and be restricted to just /ads.

 

could work. I mean, when I first joined this server I was in second grade. second grade! can you believe how bad that would have been for me had gambling taken hold here in 2012? I'd imagine kids in second grade just like me are joining the server now.

The server owners will always prefer their monthly income over the saftey of children. If you remove crates, the owners make less money. If you remove casinos, less people will play so less ranks and expansions will be sold. Every minecraft server contains gambling. One way or another.

I don't care. Because it doesn't make a difference imo. Children are confronted with gambling in so many aspects of their life. Kinder Eggs, Pokemon Cards, Fortnite loot chests, Brawl Stars star drops, the algorythm in the brain is always the same. The fact that you call it a casino insetad of a loot box does not make a difference. There are so many different types of gambling these days that it's impossible to ban everything. Prevention and enlightenment work is how you protect children from gambling. That is the job of their parents and of their schools, not noobcrew's.

Do you realize there is plenty of apps that use fake 'points' for sports betting? Or online blackjack or roulette for free. Should these be restricted for only 18+? Should blackjack in BitLife (goated I gambled all my money when I had my 2 week bitlife phase) be restricted to 18+? Is printed out super bowl "prop bets" plenty of people do with their family unethical? NO. Because fake gambling is not unethical

That's not what I am saying. I am saying that it doesn't make a difference because they get exposed to gambling everywhere.

 

as if noobcrew is going to remove a main part of the server, without casinos what else is there to do for fun apart from collect mapart, build and speak in chat?

 

Skyblock had a long history before casinos existed in any significant way. If the only reason you're playing Skyblock is to gamble, why not do it on an online site actually meant for it? Minecraft casinos are a cool bit of redstone engineering, but let's be real, they're not the smoothest experience.

Like I said last time I chimed in on this thread a few days ago, I don't really care what people do with their time/money. I do however think 'it's a main part of the server' is a weak defense of anything, regardless of my neutral opinion on gambling on the server.
