On this day (or fairly close to this day), I joined Skyblock along with my friend Levesile. We built a tiny dirt shack on our small island, bridged to the next island over for their resources, was then teleported to by a Donor, who we begged for resources, he then threatened to report us for bridging, which would result in us being banned for a week, so we destroyed the bridge. Back when I joined there was no WorldGuard to protect your island from any other person, so if any person could access your island in any way, they had full access to anything you placed. I'm fairly sure the Lockette plugin wasn't implemented yet either so that wasn't an option either. Tradeshops weren't yet a thing (or were just about to become a thing) so most of the trading between players was done by dropping things and hoping they didn't run off by typing /home, or disconnecting, when you did the trade at /warp skybase, which had a mansion with individual trading booths. After that slight conundrum, Levesile and I then started another island and recruited 2 fresh players into our Coop. One would go on to build a couple of things and leave the server, while the other one would destroy our crop farms (and just the crop farms, literally nothing else) and subsequently leave the server never to return. This started with your basic cobblestone platform, a few huts, then a tree farm, then expanding into a small shop for armor, followed by a nightclub which we named "#HANGOVER" (... yeah... wonder which era of the internet that was...) and a signature room, to expand the upon the signature wall and signature tree which we had already built, as well as a pond built by TheSugarCane. Oh and the most important feature, a 9x8 recreation of my head. As opposed to 8x8. Why is this important? Well, because the island was deleted in 2016. Spawned in one day to a reset island. Incredible work. I was devastated. Nowadays I find it hilarious because this was still happening up until a few years ago, and I'm not entirely sure that it was actually fixed. Pretty much rebuilt exactly how it was at the time that it was deleted with a few minor caveats, such as the fact that the signature walls have no signs and so on. Not their place, just a place where I could attempt to see true colours. And a lot of the times I found just that. So yeah. I would say I am at peace with them. Skin competitions at /warp skybase when I was a child. Take me back they were so much freaking fun. That and the random drop parties people would do at spawn off the massive waterfall.
