This is a problem I've had for years (ever since I joined this server around 6 years ago) where the text often looks pretty bright and harsh on the eyes, especially when mining in the nether, where the environment around you is of a significantly darker tone than the bright server tips and player messages. Even in /local, the brightly colored server tips popping up put more strain on my eyes and can lead to my eyes hurting after a trip to the nether. My suggestion would be purely one for your convenience and allow a player to view the bright colors of the chat in a different way (such as monochrome, with colors being gray and regular chat being white.) Even in Minecraft's included accessibility settings, I don't see any option to change the colors you see in the chat, and including this option would surely lead to less eyestrain on the players. Many people I chat with daily have sometimes complained about the bright colors of the chat, and including this option would be a great way to reduce eyestrain, and players wouldn't feel quite as overwhelmed by the constant influx of bright text. It could be an option included in /preferences, where all it does is change how the player views the chat without changing anyone else's view. There could even be an option to change your view of the chat's colors to monochrome or reduce how you view the colors through their saturation (making them lighter in tone and easier on the eyes.) I'm not sure how difficult this would be to implement, but I have heard of mods and plugins that do similar things, so maybe it could be considered. As always, feel free to disagree (or agree). I would love to hear your thoughts on this matter.
you can disable server tips in settings and a lot of this can be resolved with /quiet edit: /sb -> preferences -> notification -> disable auto messages
Fair enough. I didn't realize that you could disable server tips in settings. I would also say that even when engaging in the chat, the bright colors can be a bit off-putting. I understand that some players use bright colors to draw attention to their ads, but sometimes, the many bright ads (and names) you see can be a bit visually overwhelming. I appreciate your feedback, though!
