Farms have always been a significant part of Minecraft, with crops being introduced all the way back before the Beta. Over time, as Minecraft evolved, different types of farms emerged, ranging from semi-automatic to fully automatic setups for various resources. Blocks, items, loot—you name it, there's probably a way to farm it. Crop hoppers are a great starting point. You can build chunks of different crops and earn passive income from them. Beyond a few potential upgrades (Beetroot, Carrots, and Potatoes, anyone?), I find them enjoyable. However, they feel a bit lacking; once you fund the dirt, they essentially just sit there. As a result, players often look for alternative income sources, primarily spawner-based setups. Many islands feature intricate systems with water or ice tubes funnelling mobs and drops into sorters and storage To encourage more creativity with these farms and generators, I suggest: The Shop Box (or "Shopper" for short) Variety of types: Different-coloured shulker boxes could represent different farm categories, such as grey for mobs or brown for wood. Hopper integration: A hopper is required to feed items into the shulker boxes, encouraging players to strategize around hopper limits and mix-and-match farms and generators for diverse income streams. Optional storage setups: Players could design storage systems to feed directly into the Shop Box, and with hopper limits it somewhat caps these systems. I believe this concept could revitalize the current environment, inspiring creativity and bringing new life to the farming system. Thank you for considering my suggestion!
I believe the economy will be fine and no real different to how it is current. People are creating chestshops for items with exorbitant prices or not stocking items that are harder to get/less farmable, inflation hitting every item unless its available in /shop keeping the price down and when inflation does happen people whinge, moan and don't pay the price until it eventually goes back down to something they agree with. More options for streams of income that don't have to rely on player to player trading is not a bad thing and will result in more players putting money back into the economy. It will also add more variety to farms and with changing sell prices will also lead to different setups per island allowing some more originality. All in all apart from the whales that don't want prices to fluctuate even more I don't really see a downside
