Yahallo everyone, thanks for taking the time to come check out my application!​

I've been playing on the server for a little over a month now (July 11th 2024). And if you have been on you have most likely seen me offering my services to help around as my desire for grass blocks knows no bounds! Throughout my journey I have been actively answering any questions that I've been able to, as well asking my own to try and have the most knowledge as I can about the server which has lead me to naturally being able to help others, slowly fueling my desire to apply! ​

I'm Australia, so I believe that falls under 10-11+ GMT.​

♦ Can you speak any additional languages?

Nope! Can only speak English ​

♦ Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence?

Yeah I got OBS and additionally a screenshot tool Gyazo which is handy for quick gifs, but most computers nowadays have pretty good in built screenshot systems, additionally so does minecraft. ​

♦ How long can you be active on our platforms everyday?

Currently I tend to be online for more than 2 hours a day easy, and have been online for 6 if not more so I reckon I'd be able to be on for a solid chunk of time ​

♦ Moderation Experience?

Yeah I have a rather long list of moderating on small minecraft servers, and a handful of larger servers (100-400 members).

I've had to moderate on forums for most of these servers as well - most being powered on XenForo, and Enjin while it was running.​

have been a moderator for multiple upstarting small servers, as well as one of the largest gaming server at the time, Terraria's official server, which is where I learnt a lot of my skills. ​

♦ Why do you think you should become a staff member?

I have the innate desire to help those around me when I can and take part in the community however possible so I feel like that my passion for interacting with others in a positive way is one that isn't a quality that can't be learned.

Similarly, I shine in situations where it comes to crowd control to defuse situations which I consider my greatest asset when it comes to being apart of moderation teams. Additionally I personally favor interacting one on one (so if you see me replying only one person per reply I promise im not trying to artificially bump this thread!)

However I don't have a strong desire to climb the staff ranks, I act like this regardless of being apart of a staff team or not, and don't have much of a strong desire to enforce using commands and such, but despite this I am knowable of most basic Moderator commands. But I am eager to be taught if I ever to join the team on how to navigate the waves of being on the team, otherwise I'd be overwhelmed, confused and stressed!

I also have no history of being banned or any type of punishments on throughout my history of the server or others!​

 

You seem quite qualified for a staff role. That's great! However, you only joined a month ago and I don't believe that is sufficient time to prove yourself to peers on the server that you have what it takes to be a good helper/mod on a rather unique server. I think it would be best to just play on the server and have some fun for a couple more months before applying for such a position.

For example, you only just learned of /sethome today, as seen on your gameplay suggestion which is quite a basic command.- Skyblock - Ignore Glass Blocks for /island,home,visit | Skyblock Official Site

I'm not trying to mock or shame you, I just think that these are some quite simple commands which you are unaware of - which is fine, considering you have only been playing for a month or so. However this is what I mean by not believing a month of play is sufficient time to prove yourself.

In no way am I trying to put you down, I think your enthusiasm is great and would help cement a strong application in the future. But as I said, it's clearly too early to be applying for roles like these.

I'm seeing a lot of neutral and no supports, which is totally understandable!
I'd adore some feedback to know how to improve as I'm currently unsure what im currently lacking to earn more support,

So far I'm aware of needing to be more active on Eco (which I plan to do so in future as I'm hyperfixating a lot of Skyblock haha)
I mostly lurk on discord, so I imagine that actively talking on there is something I will have to slowly begin developing,
and become more familiar with more commands that are on the server

I feel like my time of joining means I'm rather new, but I lacked to mention that my overall time of playing on the server is rather high despite recently joining, even higher than most active players I seem to come across, and it has only gotten a lot higher since making this application (Haha I need a new hobby I reckon)

Other than these pieces of feedback I'm unsure on what to do to improve, so to those leaving a rating (thank you for taking the time to do so!) it'd be very informative for me to see what your thoughts are, but of course no pressure to do!
