Please only allow 1-2 accounts to obtain vote keys from vote parties per IP. Not only have rare crates stuff dropped in price drastically, but the server has reached a point where I'm willing to bet 90% of the playerbase are alts afking for vote keys. I know this is getting heavily downvoted, but I'm only hoping the latest lag we've been experiencing on skyblock could be reduced somehow.
This suggestion is marked Global, but your concerns seem to only apply to Skyblock. Economy only allows 2 accounts per IP. Rare Crates Stuff have not dropped in price on Economy. Lag on both servers have nothing to do with players AFKing for keys.
Surprisingly I'm in the no support camp, but if it gets enforced I don't really mind at all Voting benefits the server and if they take the time to do it enough for alts somehow, they've taken the time to do so, so its fair, considering that there is no limit to how many people can partake in a vote party It is unfair and somewhat pay to win but considering you cant vote on so many devices there is only so much you can do. People would also probably have alts on their farms to keep them running anyhow, so if they aren't AFKing for VPs they'd be doing it for that I've noticed from the people I see with multiple alts online that they're very generous and giving away high value items and/or multiple amount of grass on the regular as well. I'm not sure if its due to me possibly joining during the development of these AFKing alt parties but I don't see such a massive hit to the economy as the community seems very generous to one another
No support. The amount of items gained from voting and from vote parties has already dropped considerably in the last year or two, with only getting rewards on 1 server vs both, and the broken lucky prizes you used to be able to get from voting. Rare crate items were inevitably going to go down in price due to the fact that most of them are useless and don't do anything besides decorate. I will agree that the lag spike during vote parties is intense but it is very short and not a huge problem, also it wouldn't be affected to heavily by the number of players online.
Thank you, I had no idea so I mindlessly placed global, I've changed thread to skyblock. Yes I'd imagine people must be doing this to cause this recent lagg, so perhaps the voting restriction would demotivate to alts somehow. What? I never talked about that? I'm talking normal lagg, as in you're playing like breaking blocks and they come back for like 2 seconds to break down. Of course it's still not that bad and frequent compared to economy, but I've noticed it and the lower tps(this tps is obviously related to player count as tps is absolutely fine on reboot then player count reaches 100+ and bam, though it could be someone with a huge *** farm that just gets around). Maybe it's me? Although I've seen people complain sometimes, but I wouldn't think it's my connection? If host changed then you could be right
This is just me thinking and it kind of went on a ramble, no need to read it all at all but this is my point of view on the topic I personally believe that this couldn't be the case of less alts would reduce the lag (besides VP lag) because lets just hypothetically assume there are no alts but are all players. Could the server really not handle its players base? I've just started building some farms on my island now (oddly enough I've been experience issues the day I started using redstone on my island...), and there has been a recent new wave of new amazing greenies that joined recently and are very active who are are building cinos and farms as well. If you're suggesting the server has a problem with player amounts and its stressing the server by overloading it that is not an alt problem but a huge problem with the physical servers being overwhelmed and needing to be repaired/improved/relocated/upgraded. Considering that /Classic has been having issues for awhile of being unconnectable to some people lately again points in the direction of the issue being on the server maintance side rather than the players And I completely understand that removing the unnecessarily players who aren't actively playing would obviously have some relief on the server, servers who cant afford this implement auto AFK kicks after an amount of time, which if I recall back in 2014ish time was a thing? Along side a Clag (Clear lag) system to remove items every hour or so on the ground which is completely removed in the current version of skyblock. I believe skyblock used to have a lot larger player base back in the years because I recall moderating for a 700k person server at some point and Skyblock had a larger player base than the one I was on, so the knowledge to maintain and power has came and passed and yet here are problems with this either implies ddosing or incorrect server maintance. Considering the absolute dramallama [Noob's been going through behind the scenes with Microsoft] I'm not surprised by possible lack of effort to look into these details and let it slip a bit due to the simple exhaustion of effort of it all. I believe before disabiling the abilities of a person, it is up for the server to try and resolve issues internally, if the players are the fault of the problem the way to go about it would be to re-introduce Auto AFK kicking timers and a timer to delete items on the ground after an amount of time/fixed times throughout the day, lower the allowed amount of alts an offiical rule and perhaps lower the server player limit. It never should be to to punish a player to take away something they've gone out of their way to do and therefore deserve to have. Thanks for coming to my Tedd Talk, after this lengthy tangent I've came to the personal discovery to say that that your heart is totally in the right place with your suggestion but the reason as to why my I'm not on board with it turns out that I don't believe its the right method of doing so which may of been clear to most but I'm a bit slow so it took me to write all this to figure exactly why haha
I would think the main concern would be the economic impact of all these free keys/grass/voterewards suffering from inflation, but I think people standing still or floating in AFK pools does not contribute significantly to lag. Also, i think 90% of playerbase being afk is a bit of an exaggeration; this is Survival not economy(for legal reasons this is a joke)
The low tps definitely comes from too many players having too many afk farms, but having an alt online sitting at your own island collecting keys from vote parties really doesn't affect it. Those that use alts to afk (like myself) don't do it for vote parties as much as they do it just to collect items from their farms. Vote party rewards are a good addition to normal farm output but are not the main reason I use alts. Restricting vote party rewards would make some people not want to afk their alts as much, but it would probably just be the people that don't have their alts at afk farms. I am unsure how much this would help consistent low fps, but removing the requirement to vote for vote parties would ease the lag spike a little, as the vote party must check each player online to see if they have voted in the last 24 hours. I'd assume removing that check would remove some of the lag spike but probably wouldn't raise tps overall.
