before i get to my point:
so, as y'all know mapart is one of the most popular and valuable trades in the market (ty saturn for this sentence lol) and most people use either litematica or if theres still people who do, schematica (in addition of baritone for both but thats not important). and for those who use litematica they have the option to view the info of any block they look at with the click of a button, same for chests but since the anti cheat prevents us from looking into chests it just looks like this:

so my suggestion is that we should be able to look into chests only on our island or privated by us if we have chests on other islands, this would be sooo useful for shop owners like me with a ton of shops and i always check them by opening, or mapartists who wanna check which chest is full with carpets while making mapart, or literally for anything else like tryna find something specific on ur island yk (pls pls pls)

And, according to the author in this Github issue it requires a serverside Fabric mod to function. So unless the server moves to an entirely new server implentation that allows Fabric mods or adds a plugin that implements this protocol on Paper (well, Purpur, but it'd probably be a Paper plugin if it existed) (a plugin I cannot find if it exists at all).
This doesn't mean this wouldn't be a nice feature, it would be nice to have but seems unrealistic currently.

I don't believe this is the anticheat. Servers never sent clients the contents of a chest before they open it.

There are mods that record chest inventories as you open them, so you can search for items and it will highlight/ESP chests that contained those items when you last opened them. You can use this to find carpet chests easily.

With shops, you can find all shops you own with '/shops owned', and they will be ordered with empty shops being first.

 

i dont think you rlly get the point of this lol, i already have a chest tracker to search for specific items which then lights up the chest, and by shops i mean to see if theres any grass inside from purchases, or just in general to be able to look into chests/shulkers/droppers etc without having to open it but only on our own island or privated by us on other islands if theres any just so we dont have the ability to look into others chests for privacy reasons

 

well incase you haven’t noticed, the server gets too laggy sometimes that you cant even open a chest, my suggestion is simply holding the hotkey you have for this and just looking at the chest idrc if this gets denied, would just make things a bit easier

 

It wouldn't speed it up - the content packet is still handled serverside and would still take the same amount of time. The client plays the animation, etc, once it receives the content.

 

i think this is already pretty yummers, abbie already found a mod on eco for putting stuff into chests (carpets)

well i mean the mod has an ability to put stuff in chests (no it's not litematica i forgot) why not take them out or see what's in them?
