i personally think we should tweak croppers/make them not autosell because i feel this change as made eco slowly die out and more people afking, the afk shops are fine but i think the croppers are why eco has been dying out we could keep the money system but have it be slightly more like sb
For the record, the autoselling has little to do with the amount of folks who are afk. Prior to the update that had autoselling, there were still many players who were always afk, but we would just automate doing /sell all every 45 seconds. Instead of AFK areas dispensing a book / cobble to be sold back to the afk area, it would just dispense the actual melons / pumpkins of farm, and people would either autosell if afk OR take them to /warp shop for more profit (but also more work). Imo the nature of an economy server makes it inherently competitive and attracts the type of people who enjoy hyper-optimizing things (and all of the downsides that come with that). People will continue to find ways to maximize returns and minimize investment / time spent getting those returns. And that means that as long as it's possible to make money while AFK, people are going to do that. The only realistic way to "solve" that would be to have rules against being AFK, but from what I've seen...nobody wants that. In my personal experience the difference between activity in economy now and economy traditionally over the last...roughly 6 years is not drastically different, outside of the few months immediately after the last world reset and probably after the 1.19 updates - we've always been the quieter server. All that to say: no support, sorry.
I think they should bring back cross-server vote rewards. That would really encourage people to play both sides, at least a little bit, and strengthen both economies.
because economy is basically dying because of the number of people being afk, the cropper thing makes the gameplay more dry i feel
I'd support having the option To enable/disable the autoselling function and have it as a toggle option to collect item drops or have them sold. My reasons are that before the update. I'd have multiple people visiting my isla da all day throughout the day to use the crop profitshops I had, and they'd the go off to exore my other farms and shops and builds. Since the crops autosell, there's been little reason to visit if they don't know about my other shops and builds. Another reason could be that I actually enjoy having multiple chests of crops that have been collected throughout the time I've been close enough building. And then I can chose what to do with these crops. Ever since they've auto sold, I've had to then build further manual redstone crop farms that do the exact same as cropper ones just using a lot more redstone resources doing so. Tldr: players visiting my island for profit shops also explore and support other shops they wouldn't known about seeing as for player profit shops aren't a thing anymore. And Having actual farm crops is useful at times instead of autoselling them.
this wasn't the main idea of the post but i might focus it to that because im getting a lot of unneeded attention for something i don't care about too much
I'm of two minds on this. On the one hand, I like the idea because the old profit shops allowed for new folks to make more money via putting in the work to go back and forth between the various profit shops and /warp shop. But on the other hand, I think the old system was much laggier and we were frequently running into item limit issues.

i've been playing this week i thought the issue was supposedly not farms? skyblock is doing just fine and im sure many people have farms
For clarity, I was talking about that post in terms of how helpful it was towards new players. I still don't think farms / autofarms have any real impact on how many folks are AFK.
