Do you think this punishment was incorrect?I was asked to change my username and told to quote "look on the minecraft website", upon having expressed my disbelief in the possibility of changing one's username WHILE playing, I was instantly banned.
I found the staff member to be quite brash and not one least bit tolerant for the difficulty a new player might face while learning the interface of the server
Why should you be unbanned? Firstly, because I complied with the request; secondly, because the treatment I was subject to should not warrant a ban in the first place.

Not once did I express surprise at the fact I could change my username, I think your confusion lies in the fact that I was surprised there was a way to change your username while being on the Server. Furthermore, if you have enough time to spend behind a screen to figure out my previous aliases on Minecraft, you might want to check when those changes were made. The possibility of a person leaving their room and not having videogames be an integral part of their life long enough to forget how to change their username may not have crossed your mind but it does happen!
Isn't one of the main moderator responsibilities being a pillar of the community values?
If so, is giving half assed instructions to new players and abusing mod powers one of the community values?
I like to think when a new player is welcomed, they should not be expected to have a firm grasp of the intricate mechanics of a decade old server.
I believe your decision was hasty but not malicious so once again I would like to appeal this ban so I have fun playing on the server with my nephew, a nice activity you decided I should not have a right to yesterday.
Finally I would also suggest you take the sass down a notch or two, because your passive aggressive attitude may not reflect well on the server staff standards.
