i think this would be a nice way to speed up the process and also you can't silk touch grass so i don't think it would encourage island farming. i've ran into this issue while working on my island as i am very broke from putting down grass.

 

Does grass not grow onto dirt if there is adjacent grass blocks?

 

It does IF you have grass

 

lock island to daytime to speed it up , u need light for grass to grow onto other blocks

clearly this is an ECO issue Lmao

 

still it takes forever, this would be a faster way i think

 

It's really quick to turn dirt into grass just place torches all over the dirt and make sure you have enough "seed" grass blocks lol ive never had this issue in all of my terraforming days

 

Wait but if I put one grass next to dirt, will it always spread to the dirt even without bonemeal? Or is it for only horizontally adjacent blocks?

 

Grass spread is painfully slow but yes it just takes a little planning and patience. Not really a big issue.

We need a mini creative build world xd sandbox mode skyblock for us impatient builders

It’s called single player, and it’s very useful for building things, I don’t think a partial new server needs to be added with creative mode that will drain resources from the others.
