Could we increase the time that carpets stay when broken with water, I'm finding that often times I'm clearing mapart and sometimes it takes me a few seconds longer to sort an inventory of carpets (usin stack mods) but then the last line of carpets despawn too quickly. Just a minute or two longer would be great
Idk but it feels too fast. I don't flush much at a go, but is always the last few that get removed before I have time to pick them up. A longer limit would help much more
Would be nice, but I don't think it would be good if it goes over 5 minutes. Like Hero said, whats the despawn time now?
Just did a test on eco with 10tps and I hit 9 mins 45 seconds for the carpet to despawn. Don’t know if the tps is a factor but over 9 mins seems to be more than good enough for collection time. Haven’t tested on survival.
9 minutes 45 seconds? if despawn time is based on ticks, then 10 tps makes that a 5 minute despawn time for carpet?
Ok then if that is the case then the despawn time is set at standard for Minecraft items. Still 5 mins seems like long enough. if someone else wants to do some testing that would be amazing.
They should be on default Minecraft despawn time which is 5 minutes. I'm kind of neutral to this suggestions, it wouldn't be a top priority. Just clear out in smaller sections.
On survival it seems a lot faster at times. Usually not a problem, just the odd few times. Yeah I agree it isn't a high priority, though extending clear time by 1 min would be helpful. I don't clear that much at once, two and a half rows at a time, which works fine for me. Otherwise it takes far longer clering carpets running one row of dispenses per flush. Some items such as cobble despawn fast, which is understandable given the quantities of cobble, but carpets are harder to redo if a whole bunch of stacks deapawn. They should last longer to be able to be collected on time fully. Not saying like drastically longer, maybe we could start by testing 1 min extra?
I'm rating neutral because on the one hand, I don't think this is an issue that needs fixing. I've never lost carpets from clearing, and I think the clear time is more than sufficient. On the other hand, increasing the carpet despawn time would help insulate me against losing carpets by making any mistakes? So I guess neutral?
Perhaps you need to have dump chest rather than sorting while collecting. The time seems plenty enough.
Try making mapart on survival. I agree that on eco the time seems to be enough, especially if tps drops low meaning carpets stay broken that little while longer. On survival they seem to dissappear faster. The only difference between me depositing(dumping) carpets into an item sorter, vs me emptying a couple invs directly into their chests using stack to chest mods, is a few seconds. Personally, I feel that reasons against, are that people are happy as it is now. But what's the harm by allowing carpets to last that tiny bit extra? It's hardly going to increase server lag that much considering the carpets are being collected soon as possible, its just means that the slower players that don't use ai pathfinding mods can have a tiny bit extra leeway when it comes to being able to clear mapart. I'm not suggesting to let us break even more carpets(that could add to the lag sure.) , only suggesting to let them stay a few seconds longer to help with collecting them.
