Hello! My name is Beens and I am a longtime Skyblock player and first time Skyblock Staff applicant. I have grown to love this server and community and am interested in helping out in a bigger way. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and for considering me as an applicant.

I cannot speak any additional languages.

Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence?

I utilize the Windows/Xbox software to capture any video/audio evidence and have plenty of experience using it.

How long can you be active on our platforms everyday?

Most days I spend multiple hours on Skyblock.net, and have a flexible work schedule allowing me to make specific time for the server if needed.

When did you first join Skyblock?

I first joined Skyblock.net in Dec. 2019 and really began playing in Sept. 2021. However, I used to play on another Skyblock server from about 2013-2017, and have been familiar with the gamemode for well over a decade.

Have you ever been banned on any platform?

I have two previous bans, one for griefing in 2021, and one for harassing community members in 2022 (appeal here).

I recognize this is undoubtedly a poor history to have as a current staff applicant. I am embarrassed by my past actions and have made strides to distance and improve myself from these past occurrences. I have made amends to those affected by my actions in both punishments, and feel that I can and will continue to prove myself as reformed regardless of my acceptance as a staff applicant.

Do you have any past moderation experience?

I do happen to have some past and current moderation experience on other platforms, which I will list below:

Minecraft Moderation Experience

I worked for a popular zombie survival server (happy to discuss more about this privately out of respect for advertising rules), where I started as a Trial Chat Mod (essentially Helper) in late 2015, and eventually worked my way to the position of Head Mod in late 2016. I worked for this server until it closed in 2017, and absolutely loved my time working for the server.

Discord Moderation Experience

In Aug. 2022, I created a Discord server intending for it to be just among close friends, however it has grown into a pretty sizable server with over 150 members. Albeit a much smaller community than Skyblock, I have learned a lot about Discord as a platform, and how to deal with a large variety of issues.

I believe both of my listed experiences will benefit me if given the position of Helper.

Why do you think you should become a staff member?

I think my natural desire to help others aligns well with the position I am applying for. I believe that I have a level head on my shoulders, and an ability to be fair in situations when dealing with tough matters. I consider myself to be easy-going and good at communicating with others, but am always striving to get better regardless.

There are areas I will absolutely continue to work on. I realize I have made mistakes in the past, and I have a desire to continue to do my very best to prove myself as a model player.

Fair

I would consider myself to be fair when handling issues that have come up in past situations, and do my best to remove any biases and address the issue at hand with integrity. I do not believe in passing judgment on a whim, and believe in taking time to get to the bottom of issues when necessary.

Kind

I take pride in being friendly to others, and love making friends on the server and interacting with the community.

Approachable

In general, I would consider myself to be open to chatting with anyone about most things. I can confidently say that if anyone has an issue, they can come to me and I will do my best to assist them with whatever it may be.

Work Ethic

I definitely am willing to put in the work at whatever task is at hand. I take pride in putting forth effort in my endeavors, and making good on commitments. I am ready to dedicate my time and my effort into helping this server.

Do you meet the requirements for staff?

I believe I do.

 

I can say without a single doubt in my mind Beens is the best candidate for this. He is the most hard working and dedicated person I have met in whatever he does. He is very professional when it comes to handling situations and I hope everyone can see that as well. I fully support this staff application and cant wait to see what he is able to accomplish on the staff team.

 

Ive had nothing but wonderful interactions with you. You are knowledgeable on both servers and frequently play on both. Your discord activity is lacking but in my opinion your continued dedication to both Skyblock and Economy makes up for that.

I'm neutral currently for your staff application. When I was a newer player on the server looking for giftcard to balance trades, I personally feel as though I was taken advantage of for not knowing the current trading rates. Considering the amount of money I'd spent on the giftcard trade, receiving under half of what other people's rates was felt as though I was being ripped off at the time. It was only learning on other peoples advice that I realised this to which your response was to go off on one at me. You knew you offered me a low rate, and your excuse was that noone else was offering to trade larger bal deals so you could then offer me half rates. Had I known prior that you were offering me half of what I could potentially have bought from multiple players then I'd have gone to someone else instead. That's not a professional approach I'd expect from any staff applicant.

 

As a newer player you had a hard time articulating your needs during trades. My first few trades with you always ended in unnecessary anger. I believe you should re-evaluate how you feel about Beens as an applicant and not base it off of a trade that occurred a long time ago when you weren't as familiar with the market. I don't think Beens would ever scam anyone. It must have been a miscommunication.

 

You're welcome to have this opinion however I did try to reason at the time with this trade and feel like beens took advantage over the fact I wasn't 100%clued in on the current market values of the time. This could have happened to any player, and wasn't particularly kind thing to do. I wouldn't except this behaviour from a respected and established member who knew they offered an intentionally low gc trade. So what's to say this wont happen again. As I say I'm neutral for now. I'd like to be shown wrong over time.

 

Hey Abbie, I am saddened to hear you felt this way about one of our past transactions. Often times, it is challenging to keep up to date with the often evolving market on eco, and it certainly was never my intention to rip you off. I care far more about good relationships than personal gain, and I would be more than happy to review whatever trade you are discussing and make it right. I wish I had known sooner, and I am sorry you had this experience.

Easy support Beens. Good to see you applying again. As one of the most active members on eco right now its hard to say just how needed a full time eco player is on the staff team. I may be a little outdated in saying this but I say things how I see them.

I don‘t know you well but I talked to you in group vcs a couple times and you seem like a kind guy. I only see you on Skyblock every once in a while but I‘ve been told that you are very active on eco so SUPPORT!
