Noobcrew , your abrupt closure of the last thread answered many questions but I have one more. Can you explain how lucky crate keys don’t fall under the definition of Tebex’s AUP point 1.6

I hope you can understand my concern. If Skyblock violates Tebex’s AUP, it’s webstore could be shut down. Losing this source of income to upkeep the server is not good for anyone.
And Tebex are currently looking into the sale of these item on all servers.

We follow Microsoft's guidelines which is what matters.

We don't have to use Tebex if we don't want to, they don't control all webstores anymore and there are other platforms nowadays. Moving to a new one would be tedious however. Most servers have crate keys, so I don't imagine they will put their own restrictions in place that surpass Microsoft's own guidelines on this sort of thing as they will most definitely lose their own customer base.

Our crates only give disguises, trails, pets, collectible rares, etc. From my perspective this doesn't fit into the category of gambling and i've discussed this on the previous thread.

Debatable. If I buy a Legendary Key and win a Guardian Spawner I have ‘won’ something worth more than $7 (or however much a leg key is). Therefore I have spent $7 in hopes of winning something worth more that what I spent, which is the textbook definition of gambling.

Or I could ‘win’ a bunch of iron not even worth 10 cents.

Great that there are options. I’m not sure what happens to existing gift cards if you did have to move the webstore.

You do have an agreement with Tebex so you have agreed to their policies.
Noobcrew , I am a bit concerned by the fact you’re not compliant with Tebex’s AUP. I have bought many gift cards and I’m not sure what happens to them if the webstore is closed down. I’ve enquired with Tebex regarding this for now.

My earlier help thread where I asked if Skyblock allowed gambling, I meant gambling in the general sense as is done with many of the casinos on Skyblock. So I’m not sure if I got that answer I was after.

I do believe that this is gambling in the legal sense as real money is paid for a game of chance, the fact that no real money can be won doesn’t change that. There is no doubt that it’s gambling in the general sense.

It would be great if they could be earned on Skyblock in a way similar to the way they are earned on Economy through quests.

Absolutely correct. It IS gambling, and that definition doesn't change because someone prevents people from discussing it.

The post you replied to showing a section of their Acceptable Use Policy, show that they most definitely do put their own restrictions in place, so I'm surprised that you would say that.

The guidelines of any policy you agree to matter. We players have to follow Microsoft's guidelines and polices in addition to the rules set out by Skyblock.

Your adherence to Tebex 's policies helps to ensure that the webstore will still be there when we go to use the gift cards we have purchased to use on your server.

Noobcrew , Can you please advise, what happens to our gift cards if the webstore is shut down or if you choose to move to another platform?

Noobcrew , I'm still waiting for an answer to this entirely reasonable question please.

I'm asking specifically about gift cards and what happens to them, if he moves to a different webstore provider.

Gambling is gambling. An effort of risking real money for the potential of winning real money.

The crates are a game of chance that give mostly cosmetics or rare items. The value you perceive of a specific item or perk is not actually tangible or redeemable for real money.

As long as the rewards given aren't monetary nor are they p2w, then it is compliant with Microsoft's guidelines.

Crates are definitely something that can be perceived in a negative light but we follow what Microsoft allows and we feel what we offer is acceptable for the server. Their guidelines are ever changing so if something happens in the future and they want them fully removed from all servers on Minecraft for example then we will have to do so.

They would easily be transferred over.

    Locking thread now.
