I don't know if this is possible, but I joined a COOP after having my own island for a while (from when I joined almost two months ago) but then left it immediately as I was trying to get started on making map art. I didn't see any kind of chat notification that my island would get deleted. Is my old island that I have lots of time in deleted forever or is there any way I can get it back? My shops still come up when I search for them but I can't warp to them. I just really don't want to start all the way over.
Joining a coop causes your old island to be deleted and there's no way to recover it. As far as I can remember you're required to confirm that you want to accept a coop invite, in which you're told you won't keep your old island.
