You can already disable all chat colours through Options -> Chat Settings -> Colors: ON/OFF I don't really think this preference is necessary.
I think it would be a necessity for players who don’t like to see all of the colors in chat, in the instance that colored nicks gets added to Eco. For example: I think it’d be a solid idea to add so people can stay with the normal colors instead of seeing a “rainbow chat” which in itself wouldn’t happen, as it’s only /nicks and people rarely chat in color.
I see your argument but 90% of chat (player auto ads, skyblock auto ads, vote messages, etc) are coloured. If you don't want to see colour, just turn it all off.
I still want to see the odd color in chat, as well as the rank color of players. What I don't want to see is the unicorn puke of unreadable names of players in the chat
I hate this exaggeration, Eco rarely ever has chat running nonstop. Everybody is AFK or busy. There’s times where chat gets going, but people act like the entire chat will be flooded with rainbows, yet we go for 20+ minutes without a single message numerous times throughout the day. The narrative that the chat will become ugly and drowned with “unicorn puke” would apply to servers like SB or ones where chat is continuously running, but not here on Eco.
