I was discussing with a couple of the people who use the existing api endpoints, and we came up with a list for some new ones.

• Votes until VP
• Island level (per player or leaderboard)
• A heavily cached economy balance

If any of these could be added it'd be very useful .

Edit for clarification: Economy balance is mentioned to be heavily cached as some people disliked it being updated in real time.

The API is not really a priority for us however I'll add a packet pipeline soon to allow direct communication with the servers. Once this system is in place more endpoints can be added. For now we're just planning to add a online player list endpoint that we want to use ourselves in the new discord bot.

 

What does "packet pipeline soon to allow direct communication with the servers" mean? Does it mean sending packets via the api?

 

The API currently can't communicate with the servers directly and can only return cached/db data.
