"A wise man once said that all human activity is a form of play. And the highest form of play is the search for Truth, Beauty and Love."

Hello there, Skyblock. My name is Alex, also known as UnleashThe50Cal and previously as xinnify. My goal with this post is to show that the player NotErics earns to be welcomed back into the community.

Many of you know NotEric as a man who made his way into the community through his charming and reasonable acts. Unfortunately, on the 9th of April 2022, his inevitable downfall has occurred.

    Eric's Supporters

NotEric's greatly impacted our community, coming across contemporary supporters who appreciate his actions. papoo, luka, Beens, Shep, Imfe, PCcoolguy100, Rosieval, Slikassassin123, 1_sis_1, lilCupcakeFreak, Queen, boba, onlydubs111, SuperCoolWimp, minifigman, LeoSteel, Triggered, archerexpert777, KhalDrogo, morayeel, Brake, Magik are all supporters of this man and that's a small list. Thank you to Shep for providing this information in their thread titled "A 2nd Chance". The list of supporters goes on for dozens and dozens more! A community is practically the entirety of what makes a Minecraft server full of fun and glory. All the listed people have once agreed to withdraw the punishment. This community is not held in prison, we are all deserved equality. There is by far, no difference in status from staff to players at all. Meaning, staff should not only decide what's best for specific players. Players, being what makes up the server should have the right to choose as well.

    Eric's Past

Surely, Eric has had a rough path to the point where he is now but that shouldn't determine his fate as people change. Think of evolution, the idea of things changing for a positive reason like parasites changing to be resistant to specific chemicals. Eric has indeed been punished previously for other reasons such as "automatically mining quartz ore" in the nether, however, that appeal had quickly granted him an unban. "I'm requesting an unban as I have taken the time to consider what I did, and regret it." Said by Eric shows his true apologies in his rule-breaking action. This man is full of nothing but what's right as he thoroughly apologizes for his lack of caring to obey the ruling system provided by this server.

    Responsibility

Eric is if anything, one of the most responsible men in all of this community. He takes guilt and blame for what he has done and doesn't even think to lie and blame it on someone else. In all his previous punishments, he has always greatly apologized for his actions, leading to the fact that he is well aware he shouldn't even be granted access of appealing.

    Trustworthiness

Eric is very trustworthy. I have known him for a while, almost coming in on a year. All of Eric's friend's such as Calidre, OmarsCraft and Ca1 have been their with him and have always trusted him. I can guarantee he has had trust on 2 of their islands. Expanding on this, there are way more islands he has been trusted to edit and friend's that have trusted him in general. This man is truly worth trusting.

    Friendliness

For the entirety of the time I have known Eric for, he has always been friendly around me. I do not even once recall him swearing or hating on me for any reason. I know I am not the only one out there who is capable of saying this. Eric is by far a generally nice and friendly person.

    Maturity

He is immensely mature. He has always matured from his wrong-doings such as automatically mining quartz for a profit, and to prove this he hasn't done or planned on doing it since. There are previous punishments that I have not come across for, but I am more than sure that he has learned from his mistakes.

    The Unfairness of Kerahna

Kerahna has automatically denied an appeal regarding malicious vandalism from both Eric and Calidre. Kerahna, you must be well aware of this, no? This action is unfair to both Eric and Calidre. Yes, they may have decided to obtain a rare item but being the cause of possible destruction but that does not mean they cannot appeal. Perm-bans have always said to never be appealed however that has not been the case. "A permanent ban appeal may have been accepted due to specific circumstances." This is a direct quote from Novembree showing that in some scenarios, pbans can possibly be revoked. I have seen several permanent bans revoked. And for you to not even give a chance to Eric is wildly unfair. alex : ( was revoked of a permanent mute after "Major player and staff disrespect/harassment". For Alex to even have been granted a chance at appealing is not fair as the stuff he had said was vastly disrespectful to a big portion of the community. Staff are supposed to make the players feel welcome, not limit capabilities of specific players for external reasons.

    The Truth

Your honor, Eric has been punished for "Malicious Vandalism". I am hereby asking for my client to be revoked of this punishment due to the fact that the Mojang update had effectively prevented this of happening. All that has been affected has long been in remembrance of, but, Eric should be forgiven due to his past actions. Eric has matured on from this and will definitely never even think to do something leading to potential mass destruction, or any destruction of that sort.

    The Rule of Griefing

"the intent of causing damage" is a direct quote from the server rules. "The intent" means to purposely do something, knowing the possible outcome. My client, Eric was well aware of this, and so did his colleagues. This does not mean they purposely had done it to cause mass destruction. Knowing all four of them, Eric, Cal, Omar and Caleb, they would never decided to do this because they will know all their reputation would be in the negatives instantly.

    Endless Quotes and Replies

" I just find it concerning that no more than a few days had passed since you last ban before you participated in the map art incident." Said by Novembree, she tells us only a few days after a previous ban Eric is caught attempting to cause mass destruction. This quote may seem negative on Eric's part, but there's one small thing about it. Time is of the essence, everyone is different in their own way from looks to personality. Think of taking a test in math class, some people finish early and some people finish late. That's because of diversity. People are different and that's a fact. As auto-mining quartz is not that negative of an action to do compared to others, this may not have taken long for him to realize the fact that it was a bad action on his side and he should never do it again.

"Unfortunately we have a hard time trusting that something like this will not happen again." Is said yet again by Novembree. There is a 0% chance of mapart destruction like this happening again seeing as the Mojang update put a fix to this. Seeing as Minecraft is a billion dollar company, they would test before fully releasing updates like this.

"I do want to apologize to any and all members of the staff team who were impacted, and spent the time to fix the aftermath of my actions. I fully understand why others would have a hard time trusting this, but I hope that not only through my words but my actions I can regain said trust." Is said by the one and only, Eric. This entire paragraph shows his dignity to his cause and how he takes full blame. His apology should show full remorse, no? Many appeals only take a "I'm sorry" or "I apologize" to get accepted. And those do not, this clearly shows how he is sorry for what he had done.

"I hope you can look back and learn from this.." Is said by once again, Novembree! It is now December. April (the time of Eric's ban) was eight months ago! This is truly inhumane to think this is not enough time. That could be 1/76th of his entire lifespan. That may not seem like a lot but for him to dedicate that much time to one ban on a server is wickedly stupid.

This is inhumane! Look at this man suffer for a mistake that did not cause the full extent of harm it could have. The Skyblock staff are not concerned at all by this? This began April 6th of 2022!

    • "Don't abuse exploits or bugs present on the server, rather tell staff so it can be sorted out.
    • Don't sell in-game items for anything not affiliated with servers owned by Noobcrew.
    • Don't destroy other players island through the use of hacks, exploits, or manually. Flying machines are also not allowed.
    • Don't take items from other players island without permission.
    • Don't scam other players out of items or services.
    • Don't kill unsuspecting players.
    • Don't bypass the alt limit set on eco or sb, 2 and 4 respectively.
    • Don't create new islands for the sole purpose of receiving extra items, this includes trading islands with more than the original islands amount of dirt.
    • Don't trade items that are noted as illegal.
    • Don't use hacks at any of the warps, movement hacks aren't allowed unless a player has access to /fly. Hacks that give an unfair advantage aren't allowed.
    • Don't advertise servers not affiliated with Noobcrew.
    • Threats made against other players (dox etc.), aren't allowed, neither are threats in the form of blackmail for any gain.
    • Builds that portray inappropriate images are not allowed, including sensitive topics, racist or hateful imagery included.
    • Names/Skins that portray sensitive or offensive topics are not allowed. Player will be banned and will get unbanned if name/skin is changed.
    • Comments that make fun of another persons race, religion, sex, sexuality, gender, etc are not allowed. (Golden rule)
    • Don't change your /nick to anything inappropriate, or use it to imitate another player/staff
    • Don't spam, or create fake messages in chat.
    • Don't falsify evidence in an effort to report another player.
    • If banned, or muted, don't get on another account to bypass the punishment, said punishment may be expended because of it."
The quote above is a direct copy of Eric's saying. To get this saying, he had to go into the server rules and specifically look for the most important part of each subject and find the most important piece. This was just to show his apology of "auto-mining quartz".

"Can confirm that I wont be using baritone in the nether again, gotcha, new infractions will have harsher punishments."
This is too said by Eric, proving he will no longer us baritone in the nether and that new infractions will have a more negative punishment. Newer, being as malicious vandalism 3 days later is stupid, I know. However, Eric was unaware of the consequences of that action and let alone, the destruction he could have caused.

"After extensive investigation and discussion with the staff team and server owner, it has been decided that the permanent ban will be upheld. Further appeals will be automatically denied." Said by Kerahna proves she is unfair when it comes to Eric appealing. "Extensive investigation"? Kerahna isn't even grateful that all maparts could have been reset. That didn't happen so Eric should be cut loose at least a punishment of being perm-banned to 30 'more' days maximum.

"I just wanted to say, I take full responsibility for what I did and in no way am I denying what I did. My goal was not done with any malicious intent, the main goal was to get the last map IDs available and I specifically did the research so I knew that no other maparts would be reset in the process. I did not want to see anyone else's work get destroyed because mapart really does take a lot of time and it's very enjoyable to buy and appreciate people's creations on the server. I'm sorry for what I did and I take full ownership of my actions but I'm asking for a 2nd chance so that I can show I did not mean to cause any harm and I hope you can understand : )" Is said by Calidre. This apology is too much for an accident! Look at how much detail and thought was put into this before clicking the post button. And Kerahna decides it is best to automatically deny this appeal.

"I wanted to say sorry to the entirety of the staff team for what happened, it was not a smart idea and most likely ruined some people’s day. I’m sorry for wasting time out of your day and if I caused any stress over it, then I’m also very sorry for that. It was not ok that I did what I did, and it should have never happened. I regret what I did, and I would not jeopardize my time here by doing something like that ever again." Said by Calidre, he shows that the upper quote does not reach standards Staff seem to expect and decides to apologize a second time, once again a well detailed and thought out apology for an accident.

    The Conclusion

NotErics should most definitely be revoked of this exorbitant punishment for his trustworthiness and maturity. Kerahna's unfair acts define the word cruel itself. Eric has repeatedly apologized for his action and has repeatedly said it was an accident. The staff team doesn't appear to be grateful that they luckily didn't clear all maps before the limit of 32,000 has been reached. Due to the fact that I was mostly close to NotEric's out of the bunch, this post was made for him. NotErics, Calidre, OmarsCraft and Ca1 should all be unbanned from this mistake. In the case that this discussion is closed automatically without my granted permission, that will truly show how cruel the staff team is...or at least a portion of them.

*PS. All tagged players in this post are to bring them here to assist me in unbanning the folks. (Unless you are against)

    To server owner Noobcrew,

I understand your decision to ban myself and others for our use of an unintended bug with regards to map creation. I understand and apologise for the inconvenience it created for you in regards to fixing this issue. I am 17 years old, soon to be an adult! And I have been playing your SkyBlock for almost ten years now. 60% of my whole human existence, I have known you and played your SkyBlock server! A whole decade I have spent loving your server and interacting with players from all around the world thanks to you. I feel, if anything, I owe you for all the good times you have enabled me to enjoy.

I made a bad mistake. I broke the rules. I decided to take the course of action that would harm the server, out of impulsive excitement and curiosity for the outcome. But don’t we all make bad choices at some points in our lives? Haven’t you ever broken rules just for the thrill of it? This is what I did. I ask for forgiveness in regards to this.

Over 10 years, 5000 forum posts, days in my childhood playing SkyBlock through the night with my friends, I truly hope to myself I have had a net positive effect on others. I wish only to play your server again to create positive experiences for myself and more importantly others playing by using the platform you have made.

I am a reasonable guy, and I am open to conversation with you. What do you want from me? I understand it is your jurisdiction to set my permanent ban, and if you are not willing to consider at all the status of ban, I understand and would appreciate letting me know. I would not be opposed to having my $1500 in Ranks and Island Expansions, as well as my islands and items, reset as punishment for deterrent to my actions, as it will allow me to do my part to help SkyBlock while having retribution. I assure you, I am a good guy, just made a bad decision! I hope the community support can convince you of that.

Thanks for reading, if you did. I wish well to you this Christmas.

    From,
    Ca1eb2k.

Noobcrew, it would be by far absurd to not take a moment to appreciate how much of a fan Ca1eb2k is of your server. 60% of his human existence? That is insane and you know it. This man has severely apologized multiple times and for Kerahna to just pass it off as "malicious vandalism" and to automatically deny his appeal shows lack of respect us players get from staff. And Noobcrew, don't act like you haven't ever punished someone for something they didn't even do. We all make mistakes and thats how we progress in life. You can't have a finished anything without encountering errors.

Props to you 50cal for writing all this, I think it's well done and speaks volumes. It's sad that as my, and many others, desires to play Skyblock.net dissipate, hardly anything is done to correct mistakes that the community has pointed out - again, again, and again (and again). Not to mention the harsh denial of any appeal regarding these 4, and other players who are trying to find a way to play once again. I just don't understand why. Why do we want these dedicated players off of the platform? Is that really helping the community? Or is it destroying it?

"Second chances are not given to make things right. But are given to prove that we could be better even after we fall." Give them a chance to prove themselves, to show the community that they have grown. I've seen nothing but positivity and dedication from them since before and after they got banned. I've been taking a break from sb, getting on occasionally for kits and such. I would love to see them come back and make a positive impact.

    Noobcrew and Kerahna,

I will wait for a reply from either of you. You may think punishing these players will positively affect the server however it is the opposite. In lameshep's petition post, 29 players voted for an unban. Counting that majority of the active players on forums are skytitans, let's consider 23 of these votes from them. The player list averages out to roughly 23 of them at a time. That may not seem a lot but for a full moment of titans to come together and vote for an unban shows how they are more welcomed to the community than not. NotErics, Calidre and especially Ca1eb2k have all been normally active on the forums, if not more than the average player. They have been banned for roughly 6 months and they still continue to interact with the community because they are loyal members of it! I know for a fact a lot of us would leave for good if we were permanently banned. These players stick around to this day because they are in desire of a deserved unban.

Unfortunately, that's how the staff members play things like this out. Seeing as this post is popular with a 300 view status before reaching 24 hours, I think this would be the best bet at getting you guys unbanned.

The appeals of these people seem to be treated like a joke, and also used to spread misinformation about the history of their punishments to back up the claims that they have had multiple 2nd chances. Keep making your own narrative, it doesn't make it the truth. Perm bans should be just as appeal-able as regular bans, and to deny these people the right to comment on the situation whether they are right or wrong, is plain ignorant. Perm bans should only be used as last resorts, and they seem to be thrown around before you even talk to the player you are banning (like Drogo's case).

I don't disagree with the bans, rules were broken, they admit that themselves, but to deny them any right to appeal is wrong and everyone knows it. People change and mistakes do not make a person, its the actions they take after.

If you won't listen to us, perhaps you'll listen to declining player numbers and less shop transactions.

I know, but you still severely underestimate how little they care about stuff like this lol

The amount of older players and newer ones who only played to be because of the four of us is way more than I could have pictured. Economy is apparently dead now which makes sense, I was almost singlehandedly carrying the rare market on that server (which is one of the only main things people care about) so without that no one cares about them really. I was also told that any main economy players moved to skyblock and all of those players basically do not play anymore anyways.

I also don't think people understand the influence Omar has on the people who play. Server lost a load of people from just him alone lol. The amount of people that came to our island and got me to DM him to come on was quite a lot lol.

Not only did they players decline, it was a horrible business decision. Server lost some of its largest spenders in history. Between the many people who quit, server lost of revenue with a combined total in the thousands from big spenders. All of this over a mistake that's been apologized for profusely and still not believed, and over an issue that literally won't even exist when (if) the update comes.

Can't help but laugh about it now because the only people who still think we'd genuinely be a threat to the server have never even bothered to have a conversation with any of us. You'd think when you deem someone a threat you'd at least try to understand them or even have a normal conversation at least once in private lol.

Like I've stated to others I really don't care about an unban, all I do now is laugh at how ridiculous this all is

I went around asking players who have played during the time that they were banned asked them if ever since the bunch have left, has the server been less active when they were around and that economy on Skyblock has only gotten worse. Here are the results:

LambSauce123 states: "What Eric and the other 3 that were involved did was not exactly praiseable but the perm ban was way over the limit. They have served a long sentence and since then have realized their mistakes. Since they left I too have noticed a lot of change as 4 big names got removed from the server. Economy has also gone downhill since these guys left and overall there has been less activity. Giving them a second chance seems very fair and I hope an incident like this doesn't occur again."

Viper states: "I noticed some peoples activity dropping after they were permed."

Zhorik7 states: "I would really want to give NotErics, Calidre, Omarscraft and ca1eb2k a second chance to play this server."

papoo states: "think skyblock is just not as fun any more without omar eric calb and caldre"

They were banned for malicious vandalism but they are a huge part of this community and while they deserved a ban, to have them removed permanently in the fashion they were, is far more damaging for the servers community and the relationship between staff and players. Which quite frankly is absolutely screwed.
