Disclaimer: The entire text of this post was written by me and the maps were made by Noobcrew, the published map files (only one of the two maps has been found at the moment) have not been edited since September 4, 2011. When asked where to download the original version of SkyBlock Survival 1.0 or 1.1, people most often get a link to the Skyblock.net Downloads section, and in general this is correct, but sometimes people are not interested in the latest versions (which are the maps in that section, from September 28, 2011), but in the first ones made for Beta 1.7.3 and having a number of differences. Unfortunately, people either forgot about the previous versions of SkyBlock Survival 1.0 and 1.1, or do not realize that there really are players who want to play Skyblock of those times when, for example, there was no hunger mechanics, and the first Skyblock versions were not designed for this mechanics. Next, I will give more explanations, and also give an archive of the previous version of SkyBlock Survival 1.1 by Noobcrew, which was originally published on Minecraft Forum on September 4, 2011. The latest original Skyblock maps by Noobcrew are 1.0 and 1.1 (published September 28, 2011), their Hardcore versions (published October 4–5, 2011), 2.0, 2.1 and their Hardcore versions (published October 21–22, 2011). It is these versions that are easy to find now in the download section and in the original MF topic. They were all made in Beta 1.8 and Beta 1.9 and play great in any newer release versions. They are now one of the greatest classics of Minecraft. However, they were not the first Skyblocks made by Noobcrew, and this is easy to guess, given that the Minecraft Forum topic was created on September 4th (before the first public Beta 1.8 pre-release), and the oldest current versions are dated September 28th (after the Beta 1.8 release). In fact, so far in the original topic, you can see the “old downloads” spoiler, however the links are broken. But here you can see screenshots and a video. By such features of screenshots as clouds and chests, it can be understood that this is Beta 1.7.3. The video was made in Beta 1.8.1, but still is evidence of the first version of SkyBlock 1.1 made for Beta 1.7.3. Unfortunately, the links are dead today, and I spent some time trying to find at least the first 1.1. Differences from the current version 1.1, made in Minecraft Beta 1.8 and published on September 28, 2011: Made for Beta 1.7.3 (new: made in Beta 1.8.1, intended for Beta 1.8, Beta 1.9 (1.0), 1.1 and newer) Has a map (data folder with idcounts.dat and map_0.dat files) Has 4 = 2×2 region files (new: 16 = 4×4 region files) Has seed −4636349163969339392 (new: 1435672245) The island is located at different coordinates The island consists not only of dirt and grass, but also of sand (×20), water (×2) and lava (×2) Different tree, has the same amount of wood, but a little more leaves Different items: Wool, Pink Wool, Cyan Wool, Cactus, 10 × Coal, 6 × Iron Ingot, Seeds, Bucket, 12 × Redstone, Sugar Canes, Slimeball Beta 1.7.3 puts you in a forest (new loaded in Beta 1.7.3: tundra), Beta 1.8/1.8.1 puts you in a forest (new: forest), Beta 1.9 / 1.0 puts you in a forest (new: ice plains) Different challenges list, you can find it in the Noobcrew’s topic (see “Old downloads” spoiler) These YouTubers played the first 1.1: TheJupiterSailfish (in Beta 1.8.1 and newer; 45 videos) AlexOfDuty (in Beta 1.8 Pre-release; only 2 of the 6 videos are available now) TheHcobain (version unknown; videos are unavailable now) Download the first original SkyBlock Survival 1.1 for Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 from September 4, 2011 (without edits; Discord, 511.79 KB ZIP) Unfortunately, 1.0 has not been found, its features are unknown. A 3×3×3 cube of grass, dirt and sand cannot contain more than one fluid, so it is unlikely that there are fluids inside the 1.0 island. The challenges list posted by Noobcrew has the item “3.Make a mushroom farm.(1.0)”, and 1.1 does not contain any mushrooms, so it can be assumed that the mushroom is either in the chest (which definitely has other items than 1.1) or in the island (surrounded by sand). I was happy to find the original SkyBlock Survival 1.1, and will be very happy if we can find the original 1.0
