Hello, there mates! I'm kaktuskaktus. I have been wondering for a little spice for this game, and help it improve. Well my idea is to pick up lava from nether! It can help with new and wondering players! And the wondering players will love it and so the others!
I would say no support as lava is considered a rare item as you need obsidion and a bucket to get it which is around 3 grass and if you could farm it from the nether than the price for it would drop drastically.
Theoretically could work if there is a RNG and cooldown (or even requiring a counter number reached first) to regulate it similar to minerals in the nether Like 1/10000 chance to successfully scoop a bucket of lava on attempts and set player on fire for 10s if failed, the chance is set to 0 for an hour after a successful attempt (timegating, slow the process down to help combat deflation) ^^^ sounds funny but imagine people drain up the entire lava lake in the nether to gamble for extra lava which is still a full body of labor as to trading / ender chest smashing / casino making
Hi, as posted in this thread people don't have to post if they dont have any feedback to give. Skyblock Official Site | Skyblock as for your idea, I don't see a need to pick up lava from the nether, there are a few ways to get grass every day (if you don't have a shop) and with that grass you can buy obsidian or lava buckets from other players. Not to mention how messy it would get if you could pick up lava from the nether and people start trolling others by placing it everywhere on islands they are trusted on.
So I can see what I did wrong, and see what people are trying to say. It could help with new players with farms, and 3 grass is too much for them.
people often throw around the phrase "ruin the economy" without actually taking the time to think what it actually means. it will have little to no impact on the purchasing power of grass blocks of items other than obsidian/lava buckets, which means the "economy" of item prices is unaffected at all, and not ruined. now maybe you meant the "economy" of obsidian/lavabuckets. ok, if it "ruins" that economy so what? who cares? if netherrack had a 1/1000 drop chance and someone made a suggestion to make it 1/1 drop chance would you no support that suggestion based on the same logic? well here we are today, doing fine with a 1/1 drop rate. it will definitely change the prices for lava and obsidian. "ruin" it? not so sure
I agree with you. In my opinion obsidian (lava) doesn't need to have such a high price. If it were diamonds or iron, I agree. But obsidian? No. When I'm playing, I usually see New Players in chat say, "How do I get obsidian?" or "How do I make a nether portal?" Adding this would create a new way to get obsidian, which is an essential item needed to develop your island. I am pretty sure that right now the best way to get obsidian (lava) is /newisland replace. Because this is the only way to get obsidian, this would encourage people to create a new island and get the lava bucket, basically island farming obsidian (lava). Who cares if this "ruins the economy" when it would create a better experience for all players to play.
it depends because of the Things that people have. It all depends on your loot and the stuff that you have because let’s say that someone has a stack of obsidian. Let’s say that The worth of obsidian drops because of this update. This can of mess up the people who actually have stuff who have been stocking up on things. I agree with you, it will not run the entire economy but it can screw players over and it. Can mess up the way people sell and buy things it would be good to give new players an obsidian or two to fix the issue of them needing it but I don’t think you should be able to get it in the nether instantly and easily with lava pools
I think it would be better if players got a couple or few lava blocks so they won’t result to island farming, it would be better than messing up the value of obsidian.
You can also smash an ender chest bought from villager at spawn to get 8 obsidian which is easier if you're rich in grass People should be able to do in a very slow speed, much like how quartz ores and glowstone work (RNG) but with cooldown The value of obsidian would only drop when people are willing / have ability to work and put them into circulation, by making it harder less people would be able to work thus reduce the impact on economy. I mean the game is centered around vanilla and people should be able to do things they learned in vanilla even if it's modified or slightly different (need to be resemblance to vanilla) Island farming, player trading, nether fortress loot and breaking down ender chest, 3 4 ways to get obsidian are not really resemble or relatable to vanilla and is illogical at some degree especially to new players.
I agree and seeing obsidian is actually currently farmable (through nether fortresses) I see no problem with the addition of farmable lava bucket
