So I'm not sure if this makes sense, but I feel like if possible I think it would be a great idea if the mods could be able to check if someone inputs a Redstone signal into a dropper for people that steal from casinos with private signs using like a lever or something like that. No idea if this is possible put just an idea, because this is a problem.
I see this as quite a task if achievable at all for a feature thatll benefit so few. My general consensus is if you don't genuinely trust them don't /trust them... The issue being that dropper likely has redstone attached already the player would just activate it further down the line to avoid setting off this 'feature' I like the concept and if it seemed possible then sure but I don't see a way for this to be implemented
If this is possible yeah, but what if the lever is removed, what if it isn't placed directly to the dropper but 3 blocks down the line connected to redstone, it might catch a few out but the others will find a way around it, I think for the effort it would take to implement compared to the ways it could be possibly avoided, plus the nightmares staff would get of being asked to check and people getting annoyed that nothing has shown because of above reason makes the idea not likely liable. As said if a dev can confirm that there is 100% a way to do this and most of the issues are possible to avoid then sure. I just see many issues arising from it currently.
If they can figure it out then it could be a great thing! something like [player] used wooden button or something simulair, im pretty sure thats easy to do, but I also think it would be very hard to use 1 button press (cause you would make a small redstone clock right? ;P) as a reason to blame someone for items that go missing. since a casino spits out its prices at random.
Casinos often run on clocks and changing even the smallest things such as toggling a certain redstone comparator can be enough to empty prize droppers. There will be plenty of ways to bypass the use of levers or buttons and it then may become difficult to track whether these actions are accidental or done on purpose. Is always important to be careful who you trust and don't trust on your island. As others have pointed out you may still be able to find logblocks of who placed a lever for example. And if you do then it's a sign to simply not trust whoever tinkered with your redstone.
Fair enough, my java knowledge is extremely basic so I have no clue, ultimately it is up to a dev to decide if this is feasible, if so I do support
As you mentioned, finding who activated a dropper (or any other redstone block) would be hard, and would get harder depending on the complicated-ness of the activation system. Still, support
Yeah same I don’t know much but I imagine it would have like a command to check the available spots for a redstone signal and check anything suspicious Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
