Hi, I thought I'd showcase some redstone I added to skyblock shops. Despite the cost I promise it's useful! Plenty of shops tend to have this kind of form: For some may be easier understood as Buy low | Sell high, and on Skyblock it's generally quite tough to inform customers which of your shops are in stock; right-clicking chest shops for info requires precision! Informing customers of your stocks usually involves a comparator and a light that can be either on (in stock) or off (out of stock, and an empty chest). However, you usually buy items from a shop by using grass, grass that goes back in the chest. And a shop with the principle mentioned above in italics will have an ever expanding volume of either grass or the item you're selling. To be fair, nearly every kind of shop has this stock info problem. So I made this It uses an exploit whereby a hopper can be used to take out the shop's contents. So adding a filter to your selling shop to take out the grass is enough to make your comparator and light indicator work, to see if your shop still has stock. And it's extra amazing with the Buy low | Sell high shop, which I'll explain now. In said shop, you will have 2 double chests connected; one will hold the items you're selling, and the other will hold the grass to buy back that item for profit. In the case of our Quartz Shop: if I buy quartz, the grass that went into the chest by buying it gets filtered out, and will be sent to the shop next to it. This other shop buys quartz for grass, and the filtering goes vice versa. This means that either of the chests have the possibility to be empty, thus allowing you to hook a comparator and a light to it. A cool extra thing I added is to have both double chests be used optimally in terms of storage, so you can use 108 slots instead of 54 ;D Drawbacks: The tech uses 4 hoppers to throw around items in the shop. It's not only expensive, but it will be a lot slower if you trade high-volume items, such as cobblestone (don't do it). For items such as quartz, it may help to afk near your shop so that the filters can keep running while no one's there. A second drawback is a case like this: you're selling an item at 8 pieces per grass, and there's only 3 pieces left in the shop. This type of transaction doesn't work, so it's practically out of stock. But the chest isn't empty, so your light will show in stock. Now, since a hopper will only send over 16 items at once, this won't be an issue if you sell your item in batches of 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16, as 16 is a multiple of all those numbers. Otherwise, you may have to sacrifice accuracy over performance. You can choose for your light to switch off not when it's empty, but when there's less than about 3 stacks of the item you sell. Bear in mind that I will have likely overlooked things in this machine, and it's no close to being perfect. If you want to take a look at this machine I have a schematic backed up; feel free to hit me up if you would like the schematic file. And if you have any questions or want to discuss, this is the place to do so. Happy Skyblocking
Looks interesting and into the next level, By the way Adriansop Marcawn is one of the players who buy quartz from your island.
