As of now there is little to no incentive to farm anything but Pumpkins. There isn't much diversity in the current crop market because of how easy it is to obtain dirt from /shop and because Pumpkins sell for a much larger price than any other farmable item at /warp shop and with the /sell command. I think sell prices of the crops should be re-evaluated so that there is incentive to not only farm Pumpkins and also promote market diversity! *UPDATE Word doc. with suggestions for each crop price is here! So long as pumpkin prices are not lowered. Many people have poured many millions in to buying dirt to build pumpkin farms so to drop the value of them now would be wrong.
Support, Mark had many pumpkins to sell and other crops and get a small change back from the shops, just raise the price a bit, not too much.
Drogo thinks this problem is much bigger than just crop prices. Prices of everything needs to be revised really. The addition of croppers has had a huge impact on the economy and the value of everything. Literally everything. Spawners and cooked meats are not worth pursuing any more. People are still buying skyblock grass at 1:1000 but given individuals are bringing in over 2 million per day while afk that would equate to 2000 skyblock grass so that’s not right. Paying 1 million for rares is going to end soon as that’s only half a days afking.
Support. I don't think pumpkin prices should be lowered, that would be a big punch in the face to people like Choco who spent ~50 mil on dirt. I do think other crops should be raised to be at least a little worse than pumpkins.
Thanks for the support on this, y’all. A new thought I had is that /warp shop would be utilized more if crops that need to be manually farmed would sell for more. New players would have more motivation to make wheat, potato, carrot etc. farms if they could sell at a price comparable to pumpkins. Since the introduction of crop hoppers, manual farms have gone from uncommon to nonexistent.
So let me go through every single crop at /warp shop and give a rough estimate as to why most of the prices suck as of right now (This doesn't include /sell price) and just give a rough estimate as to what I think is a good price without any major calculations Fermented Spider Eye - A stack is $69.76, should probably be like $100 because who really takes the extra time to make them fermented Glowstone Dust - I mean this one isn't horrible Magma Cream - Should be at least $200 a stack because this really and it takes a lot of effort for a stack Blaze Powder - Ok whoever did the blaze powder and blaze rod prices is kind of stupid. Stack of blaze rod is about $50 and stack of powder is about $41. I'd get $82 from a stack of blaze rods if I turned it into powder instead. I don't even care about price change on this one just please actually make the prices match it can't be that hard Ghast Tears - $256 for a stack may seem like a lot, but when I can make $1000 from a pumpkin profit shop in 30 seconds it's really not. A stack of these should be like $800-1000 as they are immensely hard to farm Snowball - This I don't mind as snowballs can be farmed quickly but maybe make it like $10 a stack instead of less than $4 Leather - A stack of leather should be well over $15 probably at least $30 or more considering the spawner is above 250k in the market and is only from crates Ink Sac - This isn't even farmed like ever so like do whatever you want with this one String - Should be like at least $30 instead of $19 Gunpowder - No idea why this is more than triple the price of string Bones - This is probably most attainable hostile drop so doesn't need that much change Enderpearl - Same concept as ghast tears, majorly hard to farm should be like $500 a stack Blaze Rod - See blaze powder Chorus Flower - These also aren't farmed a lot maybe slight increase of at least $5 Chorus Fruit - Same as flower Dark Oak Sapling - For the next 3 saplings, considering how insanely expensive they are and how people including myself sell them at least $30 or more for one, a stack should not be $15 but at least like $50 Acacia Sapling - See above Jungle Sapling - See above Seeds - The fact that the harder seeds to obtain are lower is dumb. Wheat seeds should be at the least $20 a stack as melon and pumpkin seeds are so much easier to obtain Melon Seeds - Not bad price Pumpkin Seeds - Not bad price Beetroot Seeds - Should also be like at least $20 a stack, who uses beetroot Cocoa Beans - Expensive tree with little farming space, should be $30 a stack or more Slimeball - For something that not everyone can even farm on their own island, it should be at least $60 a stack in my opinion Rotten Flesh - Because of low spawn rates for hostile mobs and no /warp hostile yet, should be like $25-30 a stack Spider Eye - Should also be like $25-30 a stack Feather - Chicken spawners are again like 80k plus in the market and also only obtainable from spawners should be about the same as leather at least $30 a stack Egg - Maybe like $15 a stack Cooked Rabbit - When this isn't even a spawner and barely obtainabled it should be at least $100 a stack Cooked Chicken - Again with the spawner being more rare than pig, it shouldn't have a lower sell price than cooked porkchop, at least $30-35 a stack Cooked Mutton - The rarest spawner in the game and barely above $40 a stack. Should be at least $50 a stack Cooked Porkchops - Need an increase as pig spawners are becoming useless and should be at least $40 a stack or more Cooked Beef - Expensive spawner as well and should be at least $45 a stack Potato - The next three crops are all basically manual crops, and since they don't get auto replanted with crop hoppers, they should all be at least $45 a stack Carrot - see above Wheat - see above Sugar Cane - Like $20 a stack Cactus - Needs a MAJOR increase. It's slower growth than pumpkins and is less than 1/3 of the sell price, needs to be at least $25 a stack or more at the minimum Pumpkin - Don't touch for now Melon - This one is fine, but crop hoppers need to silk touch them otherwise slight price increase would work Red Mushroom - These mushrooms aren't even farmed they should be like at least $20 a stack Brown Mushroom - See above Nether Wart - This one isn't bad but I think should at least be $30 a stack Cooked Fish - Above $100 a stack Cooked Salmon - Above $1050 a stack Clownfish - Above $200 a stack Bread - Maybe bump it to $64 a stack Baked Potato - Also bump to like $64 a stack Basically as you can see, the warp shop prices suck. They need to be changed. Some like the blaze rods don't even actually make mathematical sense WHATSOEVER and don't know what was thought when those prices were calculated. So yes support, if you have eyes you can see most need a change
It's pretty insane that I can still buy and sell pumpkins for 1hr on profit shop (earn somewhere around 64k) and flip it for more than a stack of grass on survival. It also seems kind of ridiculous that some typically useless item such as pumpkin is literally the entire economy... There should be more diversity for sure.
This is because people haven’t worked out yet that the value of Eco balance has dropped dramatically when compared to SB grass. It used to be 1:1000 but now Eco balance is so easy to come by it should change drastically. Some players are earning 2 million skybuys per day while purely AFK. No way a days AFKing is worth 2000 SB grass. As some people, upon reading this, may now go trading Eco balance for easy SB grass Drogo will say that anyone selling grass at this rate clearly doesn’t know the new comparable value of skybucks so making this trade with them would be nothing short of a scam.
There should and needs to be more diversity. A pumpkin-only server wide strategy is kind of depressing and uncreative.
Seems like others are advocating for price changes in other threads, I’d still like to push for a crop price rebalance
I agree with almost all of the items exept for maybe the fish prices cuz ppl can just make a afk fishfarm that automatically cooks the fish (if thats possible) in between their crop farms and make even more money while afking
I agree that a full re-evaluation is needed for both /warp shop prices as well as /sell all prices. There is a frequent server message that mentions that /shop prices are high and you should try to find items in player shops. As the skybuck devalues due to imbalanced crop prices, 800 for dirt in /shop doesn't seem all that expensive.
800 for a piece of dirt is way expensive. Maybe not to people who ground hundreds of hours to get to where they are but to new people that is incredibly expensive.
One inventory on sold from a profit shop takes about 30 seconds and nets you $1000 or more. $800 for dirt is ok.
