This one might be a bit out there and ridiculous however this is what I'm thinking Have a /island upgrades, in this there could be a variety of upgrades that can be done to improve the players QoL on the island, things as simple as increased chance of an ore in cobblestone gens, or /shop sell prices increased, this of course would have a cost which could increase per upgrade, also have a limit to the number of upgrades that could be done. -Some is upgrade ideas I thought about, like I said previously increased chance of an ore in a generator, lets say first upgrade gives a 2.5% higher chance of generating an ore and increase it by that much per upgrade. -/Shop sell price, this could be an upgrade that improves the price of a few items, it could be things that are much more frequently traded, such as cactus, pumpkin, sugar cane, pork, beef, this may help revive the idea of people making profit shops, and make the grind more enjoyable, as now there are very few people who use profit shops and tend to get their own things and sell straight to /warp shop. -Spawner spawn rate increased, this could be small increases such as a 1-2.5% spawn increase but this can make getting spawners more profitable for a player. -Hopper limit upgrade, this can introduce more creative farm or grinder designs and make it much less of a struggle for end game players when they want to make a new farm. -EXP boost on the island, this could be a boost that gets people to start using mob grinders more, I think this idea could be semi decent as since returning to the server there is nobody talking about using or making mob grinders, which leads me to believe they're clearly not meta anymore and pretty much rendered useless as people when needing something will just go to another players shop. These are just a few ideas of what could be introduced if something such as island upgrades was introduced, I don't expect many people to like or agree with this but I want to put out an idea I have which could improve the players QoL on the server whether it be early or late game.
Let me just leave my response here as I wanted to address each thing individually, some of these I definitely couldn’t see being added and some I’m not opposed to so just wanted to give my opinion When it comes to ore generation, it would be not a bad idea to add a way to get increased ore spawn rate. 2.5% is way to high though, that’s 1 every 40 and 86 ores per double chest that’s a lot. Current spawn rates for ores are not even 1% percent I’m not sure the numbers would have to ask someone else exact percent. But an overall ability to increase ore generation isn’t necessarily bad as the current ores that are obtainable from mining are in excess to begin with and there’s plenty being bought in sold in the economy. This would mostly just help newer players get those ores which I’m for Increasing shop sell price is definitely a no go. First of all, the only people who use warp shop are players with smaller farms. The current largest farms only use /sell all because they can program their account to auto sell for them and don’t have to leave their island. So the players making millions on their farms aren’t even using warp shop. Being able to increase that price would add millions more into the economy making everything else worth significantly less. Probably not a good idea to increase shop prices Spawn rate for spawners I wouldn’t know if that’s even possible to implement. I’m not a developer but I’m pretty sure that maybe significantly hard to change the base spawn rates of the spawned but don’t quote me on that. I don’t see it as a bad or good idea, and I’d need to see it in action before I could judge Hopper limit no. Don’t see this is helpful as it was limited in the first place to reduce lag and it’s already increased when you buy island expansions. 48 for 99x99, 72 for 149x149 and 96 for 199x199. Adding even more would just make current storage sorting even larger and it’s already a lot for major farms EXP Boost is another one I don’t actually know if this is easy or even possible to implement from a developer stand point. If it is, first of all the reason people don’t use mob farms is well, because they’re bad. The server shares a mob cap and so the entirety of the server can only have X amount of mobs at once. Making a mob farm is kind of pointless first of all because TPS has been so low it makes it even slower, as well as barely any spawn in the first place because of the shared limit. I wasn't too sure on a % to say so I did just sort of throw a number out there, of course if this was implemented then more time would be put in to thinking of exact numbers. that's a really good point, I didnt think properly about the inflation that it would cause on the server If this isn't possible there could be something that could be done to improve the spawners, especially with the fact as soon as you hit 24 spawners you cant make any more money than you do at that point, maybe make an upgrade like have a low chance of getting a double drop. I completely forgot about this until you asked for confirmation in discord so I completely agree this is pointless. I do believe its possible, however not too sure on how easy it is to achieve. thank you for your responses cali really appreciate it
