Hi again, I think something like this has been suggested in the past but not exactly as I'm going to suggest it now. (this suggestion is for global, but I set it as the wrong thing and now I can't change it back)

I'm suggesting that there be a warning before buying items from /buy (just on the "item" section). Simply saying "You may find better deals trading with other players!" simply because the items in the /buy store are absolutely extortionate.
10 Grass costs $4.
$4 when trading a giftcard is 256 grass (4*64).
I personally believe it's such a scam that it cannot continue to exist without at least a disclaimer.

I suggested changing the price in the past, but this has the worry of ruining the economy, so instead a simple warning (that most people will automatically click off most of the time) would make much more sense from a player's side of this.

Cons:
Skyblock may lose income (although this surely cannot be a large amount due to how much of a scam /buy items are)
More scams may occur

Pros:
Encourages trading
Much more value for money

 

That’s where he needs to chose between the benefit of the server or greed. I don’t think he’s particularly greedy and this notification will not be especially damaging to sales so I believe there’s a possibility.

 

I think the prices just need a full rework. Crew never knew how the Economy would change the values of the items on his shop and he's never been intentionally trying to scam us. I think the better option than this would just to be do a full price change based on value comparisons of the items and potentially have it different based on the server (Again this is my opinion and it probably won't affect anything)

Since prices only inflate (diamonds worth 2-3 grass each when they used to be 22, then 11, then 7-6, etc...) it wouldn't hurt to update the prices on /buy every few months. Support

 

If noobcrew makes money out of it.. sadly he wont even look at this thread at all

 

Just going into the skyblock shop right now I can already see that 3 of the most recent purchases are on items that the players could have sold giftcards and come away with alot more.

$12 could have been 768 grass from GC sale, instead only 128 from 4 spawners. (600% increase)
$4.25 could have been 272 grass from GC sale, instead only 15 from Rare Key. (1800% increase)
$4 could have been 256 grass, instead only 10 grass blocks were given. (2500% increase)



It's clear these players are being scammed big time. I'm not for a rework of a prices like suggested by others in the thread but the message in /buy like Br4ke originally suggested is a great idea.

 

Lot of people have suggested this before, the only reply i think we got by Borahae like a year ago was something like "its balanced, us players are the reason grass is a stack per 1$"
So 10 grass for 4$ is fair for noobcrew since he has first opened new sb, even classic.

Maybe it's not a scam, although anyone making a similar trade in game would quickly be labelled a scammer. Perhaps it's more of an opportunity to donate to the server, like someone selling 1 stick per grass on their island. These trade shops often have a sign reading 'Donation' though.

It does need to be made clear though that the price is considered very high for the benefit of new players who upon purchasing said grass and feeling ripped off may become past players.
