the only goal I see anymore is just to get rich in grass, and I can't find any other things to aim for. this plus the fact that grinding shulkers is so boring, and if you try to make your own shop to sell stuff people are only gonna buy from the most popular ones anyway

plus even when you do get rich, what then?

what even is there to do on here and why do people even stay on this server?

 

I mean tbh this isn’t good advice but it’s how I see it: you’re most likely burnt out, I’d step away for a bit come back and restart (or try a new server if you’re not a dual player). Taking time away can be beneficial. But if you’re looking for the purpose, it’s to have fun more than anything and if getting rich isn’t fun try hosting competitions or try making new friends and just go online for a chat sorry I couldn’t be much help as goals are different for each player.

 

I'm not even burned out I'm just bored and I've only been playing for like less than a month. plus I don't even play hours a day like some people do

and tbh I'm not a people person and Im not a fan of social interaction

 

Pretty much the only reason why I still play is because of the community and how chill it is - I wouldn't be here today if the server continued declining as it was in 2019. Thankfully the resurgance of Minecraft saved the server quite a bit in my eyes.

I exist here to build structures and maparts, but can never be motivated to do so, so I end up just running around in circles on my island until something interesting happens or long-time friends come online. Your Skyblock can be whatever you make it, it can be an oasis of happy places if you want it to be, never rule anything out.

People can grind for island levels, I know TinyDuckie is currently grinding heaps of carrots and currently has over 400,000, people do huge buildings including terraform (ie BertBerry, who builds majority of the event warps as well), others remake older warps (ie me and WhatsUpDoc), others make maps inspired by other games as well (Slybudda remade an old black ops zombies map), others collect rares (which of course requires getting rich, but getting cheaper rares and building upwards from there can always be rewarding).

There's no limit to what you build on your island, there's no limit to what you can achieve via numbers and it's certainly not just about getting rich!

 

Maybe this server just isnt for you, looking at your other posts, you seem to not be enjoying your time here and if you are already questioning the purpose of the server after being here for less than a month and even less online time, then it’s just not for you.

Also you are questioning what we find in the server, why? Find out what you like/want to do on the server, I personally like building, I’ve built one massive island, two small islands and am currently working on something else build and community wise. I’ve made maparts, I’ve built and run casinos, I’ve collected dp heads. like others have said, there are plenty of things you can do, you just don’t seem to want to do them, so again maybe this server isn’t for you, which isn’t a bad thing.

That's fair but even though you've only been playing for a short while I'd still recommend you take a break. Like I said the number one goal of this server is to have fun, and if you are not doing that then I can see how it'd get boring.

I honestly don't know how I'm still playing the server "actively", I would take a break take some time to find out what you want your next goal to be and come back. I stay partially because of friends, and for the community. I like helping green beans get started / teaching them how the economy works. Granted, it can be a bit tedious but its like watching my children grow up, its awesome to see! On the other hand, you can always make a building goal. For example, I'm working on gathering materials for a new island (hopefully) it will work out, but that's something you could do! Hope you find a reason to stick around

 

It really depends, I mean the idea of playing the game to profit on large amounts of grass is mostly pointless unless you like tycoon style simulator games.

a good idea would be to start doing a variety of different things in the server and attempt to find a nice little role for yourself to enjoy, here's a basic rundown on all of the potential things that you can do, and the most efficient way of making this happen.

Getting rich is one of the first steps to the game, most things if not all things (this excludes just being part of the community as a friendly face keep in mind) starts with obtaining a solid ground of grass to spend on things, when you have the economy solidified with grass you can do anything the money can buy you.

after you get lots of grass to spend on things you can do ANYTHING you really want within the island space you are presented (with the ability to upgrade that space with buycraft or grass stacks) I myself chose to build something I'm very passionate about with my riches on both /sb and /eco (choosing a project that takes a very long time makes finishing the work feel AWESOME)

if building is not your strong suit, you can use your riches to collect rare items within the game (like heads or other rare to come by goodies) this is something I also did and still manage, though once done with a complete collection you start to tire of doing it eventually (choose this hobby with caution as its VERY hard and expensive)

you could always team up with people to do cool things, host events or create something that includes other player interaction if you'd like the community to contribute to your cause etc etc.

There are many different things that you can do. whether you choose one, 2, all of them or none you need to pick what is right for you.

 

What to do when you get rich- Um if you're that bored, spend it all on parrot eggs and then feed them cookies mwahaha... Or spend it on becoming the richest/most show-offy player on the server. Do giveaways, collect certain items, collect maparts, collect rares.

What to do- Hang out with me .... I need a friend lol. I'm very entertaining, I promise you. Or look at all the crazy stuff in the chat and silently judge people.... What are you looking at? I uh totally don't do this lol.
Why people stay- Weird chat, to hang out, they no have life (like me), um... cause why not.

 

lol getting rich is one of the many possibilities. You can create your own skyblock island to your heart's desires (partly why I still play). Another reasons is the friends I've made. They all have been a part of my life, especially during this pandemic where you can't really go outside with your irl friends (unless you wanna risk yourself and innocent people).

I'm in a lot of groups and friends' servers and have them on my socials so we can chat off server. A lot of us (or most of us) are here to chat with our friends and to make new friends.

 

The main goal is to finish all the /challenges and just make a nice island! People just get rich in G just so they can buy nice things to decorate their islands (or to terraform)
