Hi! Lately, I feel that a lot of players take advantage of the fact that mods aren't always on and frequently break chat rules. Some whom I won't name are breaking chat rules often or bypassing chat filters by renaming items. I feel that a lot of well-known players have up to 4 alternative accounts on Skyblock at the same time, thus abusing the /vote for rewards privilege and getting richer faster. They also frequently don't keep chat entirely clean. I know there are a lot of adults and more mature players on the server, but young players also frequently play on Skyblock as well. Well, I kinda just wanted more filters on the renaming items since people mostly bypass filters with that. I once received a cookie renamed 'F you' (of course it had the actual curse word in it). And renamed leads went around at one point, which can be found at SG_Premium's shop that seriously was inappropriate.
So are you suggesting something or is this a discussion? This is allowed. Are you suggesting to down the number? Make a report. It takes a few seconds to make a quick report by putting the rule breaker’s IGN and a screenshot of what they’ve done. But I’m generally confused and am asking the same question as Pillow. If you’d like to explain what you’re suggesting, like more filters. Let us know so we can give some feedback : )
I'm suggesting more filters. Plus, the people breaking the chat rules typically are really popular, so they end up getting away with it often.
I can see them not getting reported, but I warn people even if they have a donor rank, or if they are popular amongst other players. I think the current filter we have is pretty strong, but people still bypass it in many ways. However, I do agree that current ways to bypass filter (that I am not going to be discussing as I don't want to give anyone any ideas) should be fixed, as the filter is there for a reason. I think that some users have a lower chance of getting reported by other users for bypassing filter than others, but they will still be dealt with the same way if a report is made. If a staff member is online, all users who bypass the filter should be punished for it. I think this is also something that has always happened, and will continue to happen. It's the same thing with breaking other rules, such as scamming, griefing, and IRL trading. It's really important for everyone to make reports if you see a user breaking the rules, as we cannot always be in-game.
I agree with what Agent said on this People will always take advantage of something when no consequences is the more likely effect of their actions. People feel the need to protect those who are deemed more popular or good people even if they did something wrong. Reporting is an important part of keeping the peace It is very annoying people bypassing filters and hopefully there will be a fix for some of it, but there will always be people who don`t listen. Major part of following the rules is holding others accountable no matter your personal feelings toward that person
Your popularity on the server, your rank or your status built on the server doesn’t exempt you from punishments so don’t worry about that. I agree with Agenr as well, the filter seems perfectly fine to me, you can always report anything bad that happens.
Filters will never work perfectly and there will always be a way around it, no matter how good you make it. More moderators could make response times quicker though.
I agree with every single thing Dingle has said here... Despite having strict filters on the server, there will always be some way to bypass them. The eye can see many things, even when words are written incorrectly (i.e. lzay) you can often identify them for their true meaning. There is not much more that can be worked into the filter to solve this issue because like Dingle said the only way to better cut down on this is more moderators and more in timezones when this is often happening
