Grab a stick and a lot of bones with you and then you can tame wolves from /warp animal if you are on the /skyblock server. If you are on the /economy server, then you can go to /warp passive. For either server, after you tame the wolf, you need to hold the stick in your player hand and I think it is left click on the wolf. Then it should teleport to your /home. Side note: whacking tamed horses and llamas with a stick will also make them teleport to your home.
/warp animals for wolves Is broken I believe (Too many tamed wolves there, not letting any more wolves spawn) The best idea is to find someone with a wolf spawner and get one for yourself.
They do attack skeletons at least. Don't know if this applies to other mobs, but can confirm they attack skeletons and you get the xp from them killing.
