So, I believe it would be beneficial to make ratings not count in off-topic or just remove them altogether. Getting a rude rating on some random post in off-topic shouldn't happen.
Or maybe just remove the rude rating from off-topic?

    No support.
    Let me explain why.
While I agree that getting a rude rating on some random post in off-topic shouldn't happen, I think the solution to that (and I may know what you are referencing) is to report the player, and link to the post that was rated rude rather than issuing a restriction on ratings. I think that its still possible to say something rude in off topic, but it should be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, rather than a full ban.
Thanks for listening, and I understand your logic, but I disagree with the solution.

R u talking about von's rude rating to you?

And no support. Completely unnecessary. You can always use the report button if you feel the rating you've been given is unfair and unjustified

No. I am not talking about von's rude rating to me. And why do you think it's unnecessary? If posts don't count in off topic neither should ratings.
From experience, I know that reporting messages takes a lot of time and besides there are no negatives to removing ratings in off-topic other than making a pointless number go up

Reporting a player is dead easy, just hit the report button and type the reason into the text box - a sentence or two will suffice :)

Thats not what I mean. I mean it takes time for a moderator to get to the message.

Some reports take longer than others. It's better to have it done over the coarse of a few weeks rather than it not get done at all.

For the suggestion itself, I think people are okay to find things in the Off Topic section on forums rude. People are entitled to their own opinions and feelings on things, and while we may not agree with them, we have to accept them. People can be rude in any section on forums, and I don't think it's necessary to take away ratings (or one rating) or make them not count (what's the point of having them if they don't count).

Agreed. If someone thinks something is rude, they have the right to rate it rude. To follow with Kesha said, don’t be rude then. If you don’t want a rude rating, respect others and think about your comment and see if in any way, this may be offensive and/or rude.

Like moearnings and BertBerry have already said, it’s not very hard to click the report button and type “unnecessary rude rating/rate abuse” and submit it.

I understand your point of view and thought because of posts don’t count, why not ratings but mass majority of extra ratings like funny, old, bad spelling, creative are in off topic and discussion, so if you think about it, this will eliminate lots of ratings off players, unless kept and not removed.

I’m going to go with a no support on this suggestion because ratings are much different from posts. Ratings are a way to express a feeling for others without having to post and they should be able to be used everywhere, including in the off-topic section.
