Hello everyone, I want to start by introducing myself, my IGN is GangstaPancake however you may know me as GangstaKidP. I am quite the OG player if I do say so myself playing in the early days of classic. I quit skyblock.net after skyblock came out as I was quite busy and distracted. I would like to see you all around and don’t be afraid to /pm me if you see me around (I don’t bite unless I’m really hungry). Back to what this discussion is about... I was just wondering what you guys thought was the best way to get started as a beginner (newbie). Would you recommend maybe something such as a casino, wood farms etc. I am quite new to the new skyblock and it’s economy so if anyone had any opinions on this I’d love to hear them! Thanks and see you around, GangstaPancake
i recomend doing /vote getting 3 keys and 3 grass use grass to buy more keys 2 to 1 then open at /warp crate
Hi! I’ve seen you on Economy! Welcome to the Forums! You can use a guide that I made, for economy new players. Link: Economy - How to: Economy Edition | Skyblock Forums
Thanks, I’ll look into that “method” and see how it goes! See you around. Hey, I don’t play much economy but might have jumped on here and there to see how I liked it! Thanks for the guide, very detailed!
Hello! I love to give stuff out to newbie islands so if you want, i could donate you a shulker of some essential items for your island! Just send me a message on here when you're online ~(˘▾˘~)
Mostly just be there for events. That is the best way to earn grass. Also do /vote that's important for new players.
Wow, thank you for that! I really appreciate that. Alright, thanks for the advice! I see, will take that into account! Thanks.
I wrote up a guide a while back that may or may not have some useful information for you. In general, voting every day is a very important part, as others have mentioned. Voting gives you items on Economy and Survival, so it's all around beneficial no matter which server you want to play on. Also try to claim your Skyknight kit as often as possible. It won't give you a crazy boost, but definitely a nice little bump. Outside of that, getting acquainted with what you can and can't ask for in chat helps a lot. I wouldn't worry about building your own nether portal or mob grinders for a while. There are plenty of public portals and grinders out there for you to take advantage of whenever needed. Also don't worry about enchanting things until you're stable enough to start grinding out Silk Touch enchantments to sell. Skygod and above can enchant any tools/armor you may need enchanted. From there, my early game usually includes finding shops that are buying things at a decent price that you think you can grind out easily. A lot of my first week on the new server was just killing skeletons at someone's grinder for bones, and then farming tons of logs to sell at other people's buy shops. Once you have a decent bit of stuff that you're able to farm, you can start making your own shops, selling for a bit more expensive than you were selling to other people's buy shops. It's good early on to have your shop specialize in something. Being a reliable source of things like logs/leaves/saplings is always a solid way to bring in repeat customers. And as always, make sure you're having fun. As long as you're happy and having a good time interacting with people in chat, things will generally go well for you. Making a lot of friends will always be more beneficial than just spamming chat trying to sell things or spending all of your time purely grinding.
Wow, I want to start by saying thank you for writing such a detailed response to help me and I’m sure many other people out. You have listed some amazing points that I myself would have never thought about. Your point on specialising in a certain item/category of items is something I know I never gave any thought to. For example, you could always rely on drogo for his stone (I think). Thank you for your guide as well, it is also quite detailed and I suggest all newbies should read it to really get a better grip on how to improve their early games on skyblock!
