There are as many new map arts and big projects, it is like Map Art Renaissance! Does anyone know what caused more people to make them, and lots more detail on them? Ĝis la revido! -Kato
Map art is now much more affordable given how cheaply Drogo is selling wool. Many are just making them using carpets. Drogo knows this may seem like a shameless plug for his wool store but he suspects it is a factor.
Nice advertise xD But it is true, wool prize dropped alots. People found out, selling mapart give you alots of grass. They use carpets instead of blocks, which is super quick to make a mapart.
True indeed. For 30-40 grass (10-12 days of voting) you can buy enough wool to start making map art. Something that can be done by non donors almost as easily as donors. Making grass this way is a more level playing field for everyone. About 16 grass will buy enough stone (Also sold by Drogo) to make your canvas. Of course your island will need to be in a suitable location and will need to be expanded. With the new rewards for voting, ie vote on 3 sites everyday for the month and get a guaranteed $15 shop voucher, expansion can be done without handing over any cash.
Map Art has been popular on skyblock for at least 4-5 months but I feel like big map arts started popping up after I began working on my large scale iron man map art which is 5x6, midway through August. I feel like this might've opened up the idea that map art could be done at a larger scale and through the use of mc image converters, could be created easier than people originally believed.
Since there is a mod for Minecraft that let's you use autobuild and a website that converts images to Minecraft blocks, map art has become an industrial product. It is so easy and profitable for anyone to make a profit from. I think that is why Casinos died too. Unfortunately.
