This is neither a forums suggestion or a game suggestion but I decided it fitted more into the forums category. I saw a similar post like this by Lobooh -I think it might have been- about a year ago. But I wanted to add some more suggestions to it.

First of all, it would be another place where suggestions can be suggested, etc. But, polls could also exist there on the Skyblock’s story. It could also be another social media platform for new updates and for people that do not own Twitter, discord, or anything else that Skyblock is on.

I would happily create it, add daily polls, and run it and I am sure many other people would be willing to help.

Any other suggestions to add, please comment down below and show your support.

There was previously an unofficial Skyblock Instagram under the name "skyblockdotnet" which several of the mods at the time (including myself) had access to and posted on there. However, it is now stagnant and has been since 2016. I think it would be nice to get it up and running again.

 

Hmm. I just noticed that. Not the most professional Instagram in the world to any stretch. I made one called official_skyblock. Going to try and get that up and running and try and convince the staff team to put it as the official one before I transfer the login details.

Been doing some photo editing for it so far, ready for some polls to go up for my one follower...

I think we need to push for this as it is a great way to advertise for free.

 

yeah i remember the good old days of skyblockdotnet instagram. Too bad that died, ah well. Nothing lasts forever in this world.

But there is a twitter that crew is active on, but I agree; why isn’t there an instagram, it’s accessible on PC (unlike Snapchat) and you can upload photos there as well so it wouldn’t harm nothing

As far as I see, it's great way to advertise about our server however, there is a privacy concern. Now yes a lot of the players are mid teens, but bear in mind we also have people who are really young and have an instagram account. They're really vulnerable to numerous threats out there and if they get dragged into something risk or dangerous then that's placing them in harms way. Heck sometimes they might be invited to suspicious gc of random hoes asking if they want their pictures (if you have an instagram account you'll know what I mean). Even if you don't follow the page, you can have people click on the user's profile in the comments or their name in the list of likes and find them there.

Unless the profile was private, then yes it would be much safer but it can still happen. Also there better not be any promos it's already annoying (No offence to anyone who wants to run the account )

Uhh, same with stuff like snapchat- its not really our fault if some dumb kids start sexting with hoes.

 

But then are we advertising on snapchat? No. The point I am trying to make is that for the safety of others it's not recommended to create a section of young people, where it is an easy target for anyone who wants to target kids.

 

If it’s going to be “official” hand it over to the staff now and have it done with. I don’t see why exactly skyblock is in dire need of an Instagram but since you’ve already made one you might as well just do that lol

neutral really to the entire idea as it benefits the server in absolutely almost no way, and if you guys wanted it that bad, one of you would have already created a community page already.

 

Noobcrew knows about it since kerahna told him about it apparently. And I told kerahna.

I guess it could be private, many large instagram accounts are private and you just have to request follow in order to follow them.

 

It isn’t the “dumb kids” fault. They make a gc with a bunch of randoms.


As for the Instagram, I’d remove “official” and just make it like “skyblock_net” or something and state in the bio it’s a player ran Instagram

 

So just to clarify on what I said, go ahead when you make it but please don't get the devs or noobcrew involved. They got too much to have on their plate and if something goes wrong that makes them responsible. Please make it private and I recommend you simply don't accept random people's request make sure it's them that they want to join. Unless you have an alternate account, many people are gonna use their personal insta to follow it which has their personal info on it.
