I don't see a specific reason why magma blocks shouldn't be mineable in the nether. Possible reasons- • To keep the prices of magma the same as before? (similiar to lava) Argument: Magma blocks aren't really popular to begin with. The only uses for magma on this server are for decoration purposes and afk grinders (But with afk grinders you would only need a small amount). • To not make magma cubes spawners completely useless? Argument: Magma cubes do spawn in /warp hostile and in the nether, also magma cream can also be used for brewing. can't think of anymore reaons, if you do have more reasons, please let me know! ty! Positives: - Us players can finally do something about them instead of them just standing in our way, as we cannot mine them and they inflict damage when you stand on them. Negatives: - I can't think of any negatives! (Before you comment "there's really no need for this", there is a custom in-game recipe just made for quartz ore, and the only benefit for quartz ore is decoration! so why not magma too? ) Thank you for taking your time to click and read this thread! The fact you can craft them is good enough. At least they aren’t unobtainable at all. These are damage causing blocks, if it is super easy to obtain in large amounts it could cause some issues and risks in terms of griefing. It is safer and easier to make it harder to get. Not everything in skyblock should be easy to obtain or there is no challenge. So imo, the decision to not allow people to mine them in the nether was the right one.
Hey Krissy! Thank you for your input! It's cheap to craft and they don't have many uses, so why not just make them mineable? With griefing, they do half a heart of damage every tick if you're not full hunger, and with full hunger (which most people are most of the time), they don't consistently do half a heart of damage every second because of hunger regen. Magma blocks are also easy to escape, as to not get damaged by them you just don't have to stand on them or place a block on top of them. Not to mention they only have a hardness value of 0.5! This makes it a difficult block to grief with, and why would you grief with them in the first place? There are many more destructive alternatives then using magma blocks, like water, which is much much much more easier to obtain. And I'm only talking about magma blocks here, not anything else! There was no challenge to get magma blocks in the first place! Thank you once again Krissy for your input!
Support. It's so annoying whenever I am trying to mine some quartz ores and I accidentally move my pickaxe onto the magma blocks which spams the chat.
The reason I went neutral is because I believe adding this would just make it easier if we start making everything easier then we would run out of things to do and the server would be boring, just a heads up you don't have to post a message tagging someone and asking why they rated it what they did.
He was just curious on what your feedback was for the suggestion. Him tagging you was perfectly okay and acceptable. Anyways, as for the suggestion, I feel like maybe if you threw in the quartz aspect possibly? Maybe instead of making each one droppable, make that chance come in play.
Thank you Monster_Sparklez for your input! I struggle to see how you can make something that is already really easy in the first place "easier", unless you consider AFKing/Killaura-ing at a public grinder an extremely difficult task. And once again, I'm only talking about magma blocks here, not anything else.
