Oh and just to confirm in case anyone was wondering; by Independent Adult, I mean like working, you have your own home/apartment, and/or have your own family! In other news, results become more fascinating as people respond to the poll itself and in the comments! We have high school and college students in the majority along with a few independents and one parent as well who love to play Skyblock! Just goes to show how diverse we are in terms of age Maybe I’ll make another post about people’s ethnic/racial background!
I am doing lot of jazz studies, but also composition, some music theory, and performance. In other words, I do not have very specific focus at the moment.
That’s awesome, I’ve always been interested in sax and percussion! I played violin in high school and I’ve taught myself a little bit of piano. Nice to see another music lover on here!
Yep! At first, it was all about having fun by myself. I didn’t really talk in chat, just had a short amount of players I interacted with and had fun. Although I was banned once, for revenge griefing a friend in 2014. Then I began getting involved more in chat and I wanted to be rich, but then I discovered I enjoyed more just helping out people and having fun with my friends in chat. I really don’t “play” nowadays, I simply just log in and spend most of my time either chatting or answering questions / trying to help. What about you?
Coming back after like a 4/5 year hiatus, you can bet that my perspective on the game has changed a lot! When I first played the game, it was just with my sister and my cousin. We built a lot of cool things and we were just having fun doing random things after we had a bigger, more established island. My goal at the time was to just go to as many drop parties as possible cause free stuff lol but also to get a bunch of god items. If I go back to /classic, I have a chest full of god items so you can guess that little old me felt rich. I too was banned because I accidentally picked up a lava bucket at /warp mob or something else and didn't know the rules. I stopped playing for a year and came back to that ban that I was able to resolve and then stopped playing again for a couple years. I will say though, that coming back to Skyblock there are both good and bad changes. Good changes would be that no one can bridge to your island anymore, you can get special items through shops, and the other new features and commands that the server offers. However, with those shops, I feel like the chat is overloaded with ads for people's shops. If I was trying to have a conversation with another player in the chat, I have to look between the chunks of 3 lined, multicolored text, just to respond to someone who needs help or wants to go into /ma j. In the end, that's just how I see things now. I am getting back into the groove of things and perhaps once I'm more settled in, my opinion on those bad changes will go another way if that is resolved. Overall, I still get that really nice nostalgia of logging onto Skyblock and doing other fun things!
Nursing school has taken over my life with studying but I’m taking a break so quick update : The high schoolers of our server has taken the lead, controlling a whopping 48.4% in poll participation! That’s more than college students/grads and independents combined whaaaaat? Well, that’s actually no surprise as teens have more time to play than us adults doing fantabulous adult things like work and undergrad/grad school yay hahahaha...... :cri:
