This will basically be a list of THEORETICAL pc builds that ill post here. I'll post here whenever i feel like it, and feel free to use these builds (if you do tell me how it works i really want to know) MOST of my builds will be centered around AMD, as they are generally better value. k ill post when i make a build EDIT: the reason I posted here is so that you guys can give feedback on the builds.
Amazon.com: ASUS B450 plus prime +Ryzen 5 2600 processor bundle $260 GIGABYTE Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB VRAM $270 Samsung 960 EVO 500GB Solid State Drive m.2 NVMe $148 2 TB WD Black HDD 106$ G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 2400Mhz 2x8 GB $100 Thermaltake Versa J24 TG Motherboard Sync 3 ARGB fans in the front and 1 non-led in the back $100 TOTAL: $974
I would also suggest adding in a 1TB HDD. They are relatively cheap, and always nice to have. If you're like me, you'll burn through those 500GB fairly quickly. SSDs also perform better when they have more free space remaining, so it's good to have somewhere to put things that don't need those NVMe speeds.

Both PCs are hecking overkill honestly lmaoo Something to think about is AMD is mainly if you're on a budget and looking for bang for your buck cpus, if not then intel is good too. Not gonna lie, I found about AMD's effectiveness when cal brought it up on how cheap and great it is and did some research on my own. For your monitor, you can simply reuse your old monitor so that'll save ya some good cold hard cash
the point of the second is to simply show how much you could spend for a PC. That intel processor is hardly necessary for anything, but i posted it lol
ahh, I see. Have you tried PCPartPicker.com? It gives you a good in depth of the price of each component as well as the compatibility. Generally speaking you want to make sure the components in your PC are compatible otherwise you're going to run into problems. Example would be the BIOS. Here's my custom build if you wanna check it out System Builder - Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5 GHz Quad-Core, Radeon RX 570 8 GB, 200R ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker
What part of the first PC is overkill? It's basically a common mid tier build with added NVMe and RGB fans. Also, speaking of that first build, I'd look for a different graphics card. Gigabyte graphics card are generally fairly bleh, and looking into the reviews of that specific one you posted, there's a good chance you'd have issues with it. If you want a quality budget graphics card, I'd suggest an Asus Strix RX570. That'll do you fine if you plan on using it at 1080p @60Hz. If you plan on going higher, or want something closer to what you have posted, I'd suggest the Asus Strix RX580. Thing has a lot better cooling, and can handle a much better workload than the one you posted.
I mean overkill as in the specs provided are incredibly powerful, judging from both specs and the price
Are you talking about the first computer, or his purposefully speced out PC? The first one he could replace the graphics card with a budget one, drop the RGB fans, and replace the NVMe with a normal SSD, and you'd have a very standard mid tier computer for $600-$800. I may also be losing touch with what's powerful. This is my current setup: Invenitive - Saved Part Lists - PCPartPicker Most of my friends have better setups than me, so I'm used to feeling like mine is under-speced.
The reviews are old, and the card is insane value. even if gigabyte is generally bleh, the card itself is really good.
No, not yet. I'm still tweaking stuff here and there. Only downside now is I have no cash so I can't do anything. :/
