Today, a newbie joined the server.
At the time, I was asking in chat if anyone needed help with anything, and they asked for some help with their island. It was a completely fresh starter island. I provided 4 stacks of cobble and expanded a platform underneath their island for them so that they did not lose any items.
I went afk, and when I came back he had left - the platform was only half complete and I still had some of his dirt I had caught when he had broken it - I felt bad.

So, my good deed for the day was making him a nice island so when he logs back in he gets a nice surprise!

A random act of kindness that I hope brightened someones day.

This is obviously great and all, but is it necessary to come onto the forums and brag about all the nice things you've done? Especially since you just posted a helper application where several people said they've never seen you helping.

I agree. It is very nice of you to help the community members like this and we love to see it. However I think your actions don't need explaining here, you don't need to prove yourself like this :)

Hey guys, thanks for your response.

To start, I am replying to Jess and Krissy.
The aim of this post was not to brag, and has no association to my staff application. The aim of this thread was to create a positive thread and get people on the RAOK train, to go out there and help someone. 1 positive action leads to another. I truly believe a way to better the community is to sprinkle some positivity into the ice cream that is the wonderful player base and make people motivated to do more. I am sorry if you feel that I was at all trying to validate the comments on my application.
Because even if it was, this would not be the best way to help the community. There are bigger things that could be done. However, I appreciate your comments and will take this on board in future, the aim of the thread was to inspire the community.

To Quentin Carr , mc_cj , archerexpert777 , Southwark , Arceus and MrGallifrey I appreciate your kind comments - go out there and help someone, and chug the positivity train into another station :) :D

you say that, but you rate my post rude even though that wasn't my intention. you're clearly not mature enough to take any form of criticism despite whatever your reply says lmao

I rated your post rude because I personally feel as if your comment wasn’t necessary. I can take criticism but I just think your comment was a bit rude to make assumptions about me validating comments on my staff application. As said previously - this thread has nothing to do with my application. However, I appreciate your feedback.
    Have a nice day.

As you typed this you didn't realize that you were gaining the ability to rate posts. This is your 25th post. You now have the ability to rate posts. Congratulations.

With how I was raised, part of the value in "acts of random kindness" was not telling people that you did it. Generally, to be seen as truly random, you do it with no intention of anyone knowing, sometimes even to the person you're being kind to. Acts of random kindness have more of a ripple when it is the people receiving the gift are the ones sharing what had happened.

A common example is people "paying it forward" in drive through lines. If someone paid for the person behind them, but then shouted out the window to everyone else in line "hey, I just paid for this guys meal!", it's a lot less likely for people to then take that as a cue to pay for the person behind them. The act is more powerful when the person pays for the person behind them, and just drives away. The person who had their food randomly paid for is then more likely to pay for the person behind them as well, and go on to tell other people about what had happened.

Telling people that you did something makes it seem less like an act of "random" kindness, and more so just an act of kindness, with ambiguous intent.
